  • Very good speakers, especially for the money
Color: Brown
I'm an audiophile and have listened to very expensive and very high quality systems. Are these speakers "perfect", no. But they do have some special magic and are very enjoyable to listen. A lot of "you are there" presence, openness, and detail. I think a lot of this has to do with the horn tweeter, and Klipsch seems to know how to mate it with the woofer very well. I've used them bi-wired, and they sound great. Pretty decent bass for their size, imaging and soundstage will not disappoint. Only caveat in my experience is they can sound a little bright sometimes, but that might be the tradeoff for the openness and transparency of the horn tweeter. And I'm not certain that the brightness isn't actually an accurate reflection of certain recordings and the electronics the speakers are connected to. Final thought, I got the stands Klipsch makes for them, very high quality, albeit a bit expensive, and the stands seemed to improve everything 10% or 15%. ... show more

  • Great speakers. Updated my 20 year old Bose.
Color: Black
Upgrading from my trusty 20-year-old Bose speakers, I decided to level up my home theater experience with these beauties. These Klipsch speakers are everything I hoped for and more! The surround speakers turned out to be bigger than I imagined, but wow, do they deliver. The sound quality is phenomenal, making every movie night an immersive adventure. The deep bass, crystal clear dialogue, and the way the sound fills the room—it’s like being in a cinema. Whether I’m watching action-packed blockbusters or listening to my favorite tunes, these speakers deliver top-notch performance. I’m absolutely thrilled with my new setup! ... show more

  • Impressive sound, and handling.
Color: Black
These are Excellent speakers in this category and price rage. Paired with Rega Brio (50W/Ch/8-Ohms) , Denon (classic) PMA-720 (80W/Ch/8-Ohms) and also WIIM Amp (60W/Ch/8-Ohms). They sounded great on all except that WIIM was lacking base and needed a sub woofer. The highs and lows were distinct, full bodied and better with Rega Brio and Denon. I also have KEF Q350 that are paired with the above amps. I have a switch to toggle between 2 Amps and 4 pairs of speakers. You can see the switch with 4 knobs in the picture that is above the Denon Tape DEC. These Klipsch speakers are not bad when compared to KEF. It was hard for me to decide which sounded better, except Klipsch had little edge over efficiency that I could notice in the volume (only) keeping all others same. I am keeping both Klipsch and KEF. I would sure recommend these speakers to the music enthusiasts. ... show more

  • A tube amps best friend
Color: Black
I owned the first version of this speaker and used it with both tube and solid state equipment. I simply could not abide by the harsh treble and somewhat missing midrange. I read numerous reviews about the second iteration and how it addressed these issues, so I got a pair while on sale. I’ve been in the audio game since the mid 70’s and have owned more equipment than I can remember, but I have finally found the absolute right speakers to mate with my Rogue Audio Atlas amplifier. In a medium size room there is no need for a subwoofer. These speakers bring out all the best of all genres of music, from jazz to rock, vocals, instrumentals…everything is rendered just perfectly. I never really bought into the phrase “I’m hearing things I never heard before” but with these Klipsch, it’s so true. Mids are present and so well defined, and the hot treble has finally been tamed. Soundstage, imaging, depth…it’s all there. Careful partnering with solid state equipment is necessary, but for tubes, I have finally found my keeper speakers. ... show more

  • Klipsch did it again
Color: Brown
Sound quality is glorious! Nothing like a Klipsch speakers and a tube amp. Love be able to bi-wire them and I did. Value for the money is sublime.

  • A voyage of sonic discovery
Color: Black
A while back I was reading an article in an electronics construction magazine written by an engineer who, enthralled by the sound of single-ended triode tube amplifiers, decided to design and build one from scratch. The article went into great detail about the pros and cons of tube amplifiers and how the even-order harmonic distortion generated by tubes was pleasing to the ear. After further investigation I too, decided to take the plunge and build a similar amplifier. I ending up buying an Elekit TU-8600 300B as a kit since sourcing electronic components has become problematical and building from a kit keeps the cost down. One of the downsides of tube amplifiers, and in particular the single ended variety, is that their low output power (9.2 watts in my case) requires high efficiency speakers. This is where Klipsch speakers reign supreme. Since I planned to use this system in my home office, I was looking for bookshelf speakers and the RP-600M II speakers with their 94.5 dB sensitivity fit the bill perfectly. I paired these with an SVS SB-1000 Pro subwoofer to pick up those extra low notes and after setting the subwoofer crossover to 53 Hz to produce a seamless match with the response curve of the speakers, I found the pairing to be a marriage made in heaven. I toyed with the idea of going totally retro and buying a high end turntable and reverting to vinyl, but the more I looked into it, the more I recalled why I ditched records in the first place and so I decided to stick with digital streaming. Both Apple and Amazon offer streaming at 16-bit 44 KHz rates which exactly match CD quality, but both also offer High Definition rates which greatly exceed the CD spec but these require an outboard digital to analog converter to take advantage of the higher rates. So I sprung for the Cambridge Audio DacMagic 200M and signed up with Amazon Music, a great service by the way. In truth I can’t really hear much difference between the HD and Ultra HD sources, but I found that the sound produced by lossless data to be a huge improvement over mp3 or Spotify’s overly compressed sound. After living with this setup for two months I can honestly say I love these speakers (and that amplifier). Who knew you could get that much sound out of such small enclosures, particularly when being driven by just a couple of watts. ... show more
