I recently got a new turntable and with that came purchasing all the required equipment. Unfortunately, bookshelf speakers lack nice bottom end sounds. So to complete my system setup, I opted for not cheapest, but not the most expensive subwoofer for it. The reviews were mostly positive, but a few negative, but price point was where I felt comfortable. The thing is a beast and heavy. It took about ½ hour to adjust the levels to where I felt was great. And now, it has taken my system to a whole other level. The addition of the subwoofer via the dedicated sub-out line on the receiver, really brings the sound to life from being muzzled in the bookshelf speakers. It is a lot of rumble and bass. Like I said, it does take a few minutes to adjust to how you like it and how to get the bottom end as desired, but it will sound great. I have no regrets on this purchase. I would recommend for those on the fence about a subwoofer but don’t want to skimp on quality/sound…yet don’t know about spending more than $400 on one. I have no doubt this speaker is of the highest quality and will produce true bass. Sadly, I had to return it because it was incompatible with my Bose TV speaker. My wife purchased the Bose unit. Had I to do it over, I would purchase a complete Klipsch sound system for the TV. Next time... Update: My beautiful and intelligent wife (way smarter than me apparently) asked if the speaker could be hooked into my existing hi-fi system. Today, I pulled the amp/receiver out of the cabinet and found to my surprise there are "center channel woofer" connections (RCA type)! I ran the appropriate wiring and built a fire in 'er. This is the most well-rounded sound I have ever gotten from my system! it is driven by a Sony amplifier and the main speakers are Advents. Way back when, I gave $250 a piece for these speakers and eventually had them re-coned. They were excellent then and now but always lacked the clean bass I really love (pipe organ, anyone). Boy, am I glad I didn't send the Klipsch back! Like I said, she's way smarter than me. Beautiful clean low-frequency bass without the clipping boom. ... show more

Wow I'm impressed by this subwoofer for the price of just over 200.00 unbelievable deal this things hits hard it's not very big but sounds very big my previous sub was a velodyne that I spend almost 4 times as much for this sub comes close to the velodyne maybe not all the way but close and that says a lot I would highly recommend this item if your wavering on this purchase just go ahead and pull the trigger you won't regret it I assure you of this. ... show more

Truly great sub, paired it with a r-51pm set. I added on some SVS Soundpath isolation feet to prevent complaints from neighbors and for cleaner, punchier bass. It really worked great with this sub so I really recommend adding those isolation feet! I added a picture of the isolation feet here to check out also. The lows are satisfying for sure. Glad I got this! Makes my sound experience so much better than my old $50 speaker set! ... show more

Purchased to replace a Pioneer subwoofer that gave it up after ten years. Would have purchased the same Pioneer subwoofer but it was no longer available. All other speakers were Klipsch speakers. Flawless integration. Quite satisfied with this speaker system. A joy to listen to Eddie Gomez when the Bill Evans Trio plays Buenos Aires. ... show more

It's perfect ...age group 2 to 80 years old....15 × 15 foot room to 20 x 20 foot room best... volume setting 6... goes with the matching bookshelf speakers with the amplifier built in best... Pros... everything you play through it sounds great... cons... everything you play through it sounds great

This subwoofer completes my home retainment system. I was using for bookshelf speakers and one center speaker for a five to one system. Adding the subwoofer has completed the sound perfectly. I am very pleased with the quality of this speaker. I would recommend it to my friends and family.

    • Lots of BOOM
sound great for movies and music. Lots of Boom I have to tone it down at night to allow my son to sleep. I'm glad it has a volume control and an off switch. It looks great and very good quality build. Better for larger rooms.
