I was looking for a thermal imaging camera and this one works with your smart phone or iPad. Which is great. You can use it to take photos. I tried several imaging cameras and I feel this is the best choice. It’s made by a company that makes tools for contractors specifically electrical tools. It’s case is metal, most of them are plastic. It comes with a plastic Carrying case which is kind of cheap and flimsy. The app is user-friendly. Download it. Plug in the camera and it starts up. You don’t have to fiddle around with it to get it to work. It’s a little pricey but it’s on the low end of what these cameras run. So it’s a good value for the money. For $250 it does a good job. I knew going in this was not going to be of the same caliber as a $1000+ FLIR, but it gets the job done. PROS: Easy to use Accurate, measured it against my infrared temp meter and they are nearly identical readings. Resolution is good- not great, but for $250 it is fine. CONS: Must remove case to attach camera- says it will work with some cases but I tried 3 different ones and did not work Could do a better job of optimizing the screen space- some of the readings are on edge of screen so hard to see them Fits kind of loose in the charging port of phone Overall this is not a bad little unit for the money. This is not a "no name" brand camera. If you want something for home use or need a thermal imager occasionally for work this is a nice little tool. I need one for work from time to time and like that it is small and portable. I have to carry a lot of tools so did not want something that took up a lot of space. This is tiny- basically the width of an Iphone 12 and only about 1.5" high. Resolution is ok. If you are fairly close to the object you are looking at 8"-2ft away, the resolution is fine. Any further you will get a heat reading but it is harder to make out what you are looking it. Mainly can just see heat signature. It does have some lag if you are moving around. You do need to let it focus for a a few seconds on the object and the picture becomes clearer. The settings are easy to understand and adjust. It will record picture and video. Saves to the unit and to your phone. Does require you to install an App for unit to function. Would buy again ... show more

Incredibly simple and intuitive. Once you plug it in, it takes you to the App Store to download the necessary app, and will automatically bring it up any subsequent time the device is plugged in. It’s not as robust or high-definition as other products on the market, but for quick and easy use, it’s great. It helps me determine active moisture leaks, insulation levels, air leakage, duct/hydronic pipe efficiency or blockage, all within seconds without having to go back out to the truck to get my $1500 FLIR handheld.
