  • BEST EVER! Update at the end.
Please read. I hope I come up as a verified buyer because I used my wife's card haha. I use a hat light every night and have for many years. I had bought four energiizer Hat lights many years ago because at that time they were the best ones I had found. I finally had to break down and buy some different ones because my old ones had been repaired so many times from normal use that they were beyond fixing and those particular ones have been discontinued. When I bought this light I bought 3 other brands as well and this particular light is the best I've ever seen. It holds to your hat super tight, It is very bright and has a wide field. The light sits on top of the lid of your hat so it does not obstruct your view but you can also tilt the light bar up-and-down to get the angle you need while the body of the light sits stationary against the top of your hat. I like that it has only 2 settings high and low because it's always been irritating to have to switch through 6 or 7 different modes of which you never use. Another positive to me is that it takes Triple A batteries because for years I've been using rechargeable batteries and always have some exyras charged and ready to go this way I am not waiting for hours for the light to charge up. Now I don't know how durable and long lasting this light is because I just recently bought it but I will buy a few more for the camp trailer and other places. In my opinion it's worth absolutely every penny and if the details I have brought up are ones you're concerned with as well you can't go wrong. I'm sure you'll love it! Update: Now that I have used it evey night for the past few weeks my only gripe is it is that Is this light drain your batteries particularly fast. Now I use rechargeable Energizer batteries so I always have plenty on hand ready to go but I changed them out probably once each night. Maybe regular batteries might last a little longer. I'm still glad it's not a rechargeable light. ... show more

  • hands-free light
This is perfect for use in an attic, or other dark space where work must be done and it is very inconvenient to carry a flashlight or other lighting device. Extremely bright lighting and does not need to be held or pointed just clip to the bill of a baseball style cap. Perfect!

  • Pretty bright light.
UPDATE AFTER NIGHT FISHING: I really like this light. I went fishing Saturday night from 9pm to 3am Sunday and I kept turning it on and off. The batteries that came with it lasted me about 6 hours which isn't that bad considering they are on the cheaper side. I was able to see when the fish were being pulled out of the water and didn't have issues tieing my knots. The light is bright af. I will advise you to take extra batteries at all times. I bought aaa rechargeable Amazon batteries and wouldn't mind changing them on a fishing session. If you need this light for work those extra batteries will come in handy. The only thing I didn't like is that the light is heavy and it bothers me because I use eye glasses and it kept pushing my hat against them. I counter that by turning my hat backwards when I didn't need the light. Just something to keep in mind. Overall I think it's a great light for the money. I got this light specifically for night fishing. The ones with the band that go around your head or hard hat eventually become used up and unable to keep tension and the ones with the rechargeable battery packs tend to be faulty. I rather buy new batteries than trusting a rechargeable ones that will take a sh!t when I'm in the water like the ones that I bought a few months ago. This light is bright. I tied a few knots with the lights off at my house and I'm able to see pretty well not to mention being able to see slightly in front of me. The real test will be when I'm in the water this weekend but so far I can tell this light will be my favorite hopefully for years to come. ... show more

  • Great Cap Light
I first saw these cap visor lights in an issue of Family Handyman magazine. The short magazine plug led me to buy one and try it myself. They are great and put out a lot of bright light. I like them because they just slip onto the cap visor with a strong spring. No webbing to adjust to fit your head. Perhaps the only drawback on these lights is that they use 2 AAA batteries and I seem to run through a lot of batteries. I like the bright light although there is a lower setting you can choose to conserve battery power. As the batteries begin to reach exhaustion, only one intensity works and is a good indicator to change to new batteries. If they could design this same light a little bigger to handle AA batteries it would be better, and I think my visor could handle the bigger light. Despite the battery power issue, I bought several of these lights as stocking stuffers for my family. They are small enough to fit in my front pocket as well. I may leave one in each of my vehicles too. ... show more

  • Horrible batter life, dim light
It works for the most part, but if you use it for any extended period of time, and daily, the batteries burn out very very quickly. And the light brightness isn't great.

  • Rugged and Useful Light
Cap-brim flashlights are very handy and I've used a bunch of them. This is by far the best I've had because the others always, eventually, snap their plastic clips. This has a spring steel clip that a gorilla couldn't break. The rest of the light seems equally well built and it's very bright, on both high and low settings. This one also uses replaceable batteries, which I prefer over rechargeable. A flashing setting would be nice, but aside from that, this is a perfect clip light. ... show more

  • Just right
The Good: The light can be adjusted so the illumination is right in front where you may be working with your hands. And it is a good amount of light. I wear a baseball cap a lot while fishing/hunting so this light works out perfectly compared to a head band type light. To date, best cap light I have ever owned. The Bad: The clip is TIGHT. May be difficult for some to get this light on the brim of your hat. This light will eat batteries when left on high for long periods of time. Just remember to turn off when not needed. Or use on low setting (which is still plenty bright). ... show more
