Kitchenaid is the best! I have a 7 quart very heavy mixer that I could no longer lift and that I also did not have room to leave on my kitchen counter. This one is smaller, lighter weight, and does not take up much counter space. I had to get used to mixing and adding ingredients a little more slowly since the mixing bowl is not as deep as the bigger mixers. The mixer runs very quietly but still gives me enough power to mix up my usual muffins, cakes, and bread recipes. The attachments are smaller to accommodate the smaller bowl. The only downside for some may be that the mixing bowl may not have enough room to mix up a double recipe if that is something you do frequently. I have been baking with stand mixers for 60 years. I resisted replacing my 45-year-old Mixmaster, figuring that I wasn't going to be baking for that much longer, and the main thing I do these days is make snickerdoodles every week for my husband. This mixer is small but mighty, and I am so happy that I bought it. It wouldn't be that great for mashed potatoes a family of 4+, but for 2 people it is wonderful. It makes doing the snickerdoodles so fast and easy, and cuts down on cleanup of the area around the mixer so, so much. The more I have used this KitchenAid 3.5 quart stand mixer, the more I like it. It has quality construction and feels very high end. I use it a lot when baking. It mixes effortlessly with its 10 speed control and is relatively quiet for a mixer. This model is suitable for preparing smaller batches and is probably more suitable for smaller households - You can add accessories to turn the mixer into a multifunctional countertop appliance. It comes in beautiful colors but I stayed with white which is timeless vs. some of the colors that will likely fall out of favor as trends change. ... show more

I like the Kitchen Aid mixer - this one is a little small and I wish it had a splatter guard I could order. I can't use the big mixer as I have no space to store it - so it was this size or nothing.
