Well... day one... I can tell you for certain this blender doesn’t blend.. especially if you’re wanting it for smoothies. Doesn’t even get ice to a slushy consistency..MOTOR IS EXTREMELY WEAK!!! Also is leaking from the bottom. I thought KitchenAid was suppose to be a superior brand..

    • Not as loud as I thought it would be ... budget friendly ... light enough to stow
We're drinking smoothies now. Almost daily. This replaces a thrift-hand store Ninja. That was fine, but it was, surprisingly, louder than this machine. I'm not commenting on the loudness of the Ninja -- I got it used, after all. Did this blend as the Vitamix would? I'm guessing not, but for our purposes, we'll happily run this one into the ground before we decide to make smoothies a ritual and buy a higher-level blender then. Some complain that this doesn't blend smoothies well, and I find that to be particularly true when I use protein powder. It helps substantially to add the greens, liquid and protein powder. Let that blend while you gather or prep other ingredients. Stop the machine. Add your fruit or whatever. Then blend again until smooth. With four settings, this meets our needs perfectly fine. Cleanup is easy -- we just put a few drops of dish soap in it, add hot water and blend. It's light enough to be easily stowed and retrieved. ... show more

When my old blender finally gave up I then immersed myself in the wide, wide world of blenders. There are a lot out there, with prices all over the map. I took a chance on this as it is a USA product. We use ours for daily smoothie with vegetables and fruit. This blender has really exceeded my expectations. Powerful motor and very easy to use simple circular dial for various speeds. I am not an expert on all the expensive ones out there, but this is better than others I have had. This blender failed after less than a year of occasional light use. The blending head sheared off, coming loose inside the pitcher and leaving a big hole at the bottom. This is a disgraceful failure of product design, and I expected much more from the KitchenAid brand. I might consider editing this review if the manufacturer support is satisfactory, but for now do not buy! ... show more

Avoid this item. I bought a competitor's product for a similar price and very happy. The 2 very small blades at bottom are thick And dull. I tried to put frozen fruit in it and it didn't even cut it down. Then - I had to call Amazon to return it. No just print return label. They said no - and I had to talk to the manufacturer. I said that was unacceptable. After going back and forth with customer service agent and his manager 4 times, I finally said I'd sue them for false advertising. Then I got to return it to Amazon. This took 10 minutes. They should take this product off Amazon because it does not work like advertised. ... show more

This blender is the best I’ve ever had. Being on a fixed income, I never expected such quality at a reasonable price. But of course! It’s a KitchenAid! It’s footprint on your counter is only approximately 7“ x 6“. It’s not so light that it bounces all over your counter. It’s very stable. The container is a well made, not heavy like glass, but not cheap plastic, easily broken. It’s quiet! How is that possible? A low rumble. Grinding ice is a bit noisier, but that takes literally seconds. Use just seven cubes at the time, as the manual suggests. It comes out just like snow! The top is soft and pliable, with a twist and lock opening to add ingredients. The top fits perfectly, so that you can even store in the fridge and not worry about spills. 48 ounces is perfect for a small family, or a single person. I love that it doesn’t have a gasket that you have to replace, or that gets ground up in your smoothie. ... show more

Love this blender. What an upgrade from my old Waring! Crushes ice, smoothies are easy, self cleaning is a breeze. No more taking apart the blade and gaskets to clean like my old one. Best purchase I’ve made in a long time. Just wish I could buy the expansion pack somewhere.
