Color: Candy Apple Red Style: Mixer
Great mixer. Replaced my age old one. Bought a 7 speed for my mom about 5 years ago and she really likes it so I decided to buy it although mine is a 9 speed. My favorite thing about it is the first speed. I can actually turn it on with low speed being low speed and flour not flying even the slightest. Love that. The cord is able to be moved from side to side and center. I was afraid to get one with shorter beaters but I actually like them. I also like that it came with the extra pieces and the bag for them. I highly recommend this mixer. Don't think twice buy it today. ... show more

  • A jewel for your kitchen
Color: Candy Apple Red Style: Mixer
I waited until I had used this wonderful hand mixer and the Christmas baking was done to review. This mixer did everything I asked of it. It mixed bread dough, cookies, cakes and whipped cream. I love my big mixer but this hand mixer is so much more convenient for space and ease of storing. I like that I can use whatever bowl or pot I choose to mix in. Saves on clean up. The downside is you have to be actively engaged in the activity, no throwing ingredients in bowl turning on big mixer and walking away. ... show more

  • Love it!
Color: Contour Silver Style: Mixer
This is the most expensive hand blender I've ever invested in but it is so worth it! I have a KitchenAid stand mixer and gas range. This is a powerful puppy. So much so, that I sometimes defer to using it over my stand mixer. I love the that it came with the additional attachments and the guide shows you how to use the. And it's easy on the hands and wrists. Great buy! ... show more

  • Typical high quality and quiet operation.
Color: Onyx Black Style: Mixer
I bought for my wife to replace a 23 year old Black and Decker that was developing what feels like a dead spot on the electric motor armature contact surface (rotate it by hand and it starts working again). It's nice and stout - handles heavy dough that you might use a stand mixer to handle. 9 speeds are nice - you can pick a speed that keeps the contents in the bowl without doing the bowl dance as my wife calls it. For its power, it is unusually quiet. ... show more

  • Quiet, super-slow low speed, and a swiveling power cord
Color: Candy Apple Red Style: Mixer
As others have noted, the low speed on this unit is super-slow - a feature that can be very helpful. It's a very quiet mixer, and it has a swiveling power cord - a surprisingly helpful feature! I can recommend this mixer without reservation. The only down-side is that the drink mixing attachment isn't very effective and could stand a re-design. ... show more

  • Not worth the price for me
Color: Candy Apple Red Style: Mixer
I bought this because there are times dragging my stand mixer out is just not worth it. A good hand mixer is an excellent purchase for anyone that bakes, cooks or even just might use it occasionally. I love the kitchenaid brand mixers because I have to say, it's an excellent quality product that has lasted decades in my home. This 9 speed is a good hand mixer, but not worth the price. I am comparing this to the kitchenaid 5 speed mixer which I ended up buying and returning the 9 speed. This mixer does start nice and slow in comparison to the 5 speed mixer, so if that's really important, go for it. The lowest 2 speeds are lower than the first speed of the 5 speed mixer, but I found them really unnecessary. I found myself just going to at least 3rd speed immediately. There are a few speeds in between 3 and 9 that you don't get on the 5 speed mixer, but at top speed on either mixer the power is the same. Both are 120v so there is no difference in the max power. The on/off and speed adjustment on this 9 speed are awkward for me to use as well. The on off goes from side to side and to adjust the speed, there is a very small button to push. I guess I'm just stuck on the old time switch that adjusts speed and powers off /on forward to back. As far as the extra accessories go, I found the whisk, blender rod and dough hooks for a little more than $10 each, so don't talk yourself into justifying the price for the accessories. The dough hook accessories are meant for a lighter batter, like pancake batter, definitely not your general bread because of the power. I really found them useless for the mixer. If you make breads or heavier dough, invest in a stand mixer because it will have the needed power. The whisk is about the only accessory I found a little useful and worth purchasing separately. Great to use with pudding, and sauces. I use my stand mixer for whipping because it has more power and takes less time. The blending accessory is nice, plastic end on a stainless rod, which is not like it used to be. Used to be metal instead of plastic end. Again, the power of the mixer will not allow for a smooth smoothie. I could see it working to make a milkshake, drink mix, possibly soups or sauces pretty well, but this is pretty expensive for that lightweight use. The turbo beaters are a better quality than the 5 speed, a bit more sturdy, but again, not worth the price because the quality of my 5 speed beaters is just fine. Overall, for the price, this is just not worth it to me. For the ease of use, practicality, price and overall performance, just get the 5 speed and if you find the attachments necessary, buy them separately. In all practicality I found the only useful accessory to be the whisk, just so I don't have to drag the stand mixer out for quick and easy projects. The turbo beaters work for light dough, as pancake batter just fine. (I really just mix pancake batter with a spatula.) I have a ninja to make smoothies and mix powdered drinks. I just can't justify paying twice the price of the 5 speed mixer for as little as this mixer offers so far as performance. ... show more

  • A Definate 'Upgrade" Compared to the 5-Speed!
Color: Empire Red Style: Mixer
The 5-speed Kitchen Aid faithfully served me for years...This one's stronger motor is definitely and upgrade! It has no problem mixing through large chunks of Cream Cheese, for instance. (pimento cheese spread) I should have purchased this, years ago...
