I absolutely love this cleaver! I was skeptical at first due to some reviews and questions regarding the lack of information on the type of steel that is used, but after using it for several months, I can honestly say that the type of steel is irrelevant. This clever came razor sharp out of the box and has great weight. So many cleavers on the market are lightweight and therefore can't complete chopping tasks. This thing is a beast! The most important thing to keep in mind is that is is a high-carbon steel (as said in the description) and therefore requires specific care (instructions are included) to be sure it functions for years to come. Once finished with my task, I wash the knife in hot water, dry with a lint-free cloth, and coat the blade in vegetable oil with the provided cloth before storing it in it's sheath. After nearly three months of ownership and countless chopping tasks, I have had no issues with rust. Yes, people complain that it's made in China, but who really cares? It gets the job done!

Saw commercials for these types of knives, and started looking at the brands, prices and reviews. I bought this one and we were not disappointed, it's a heavy knife and has a really sharp blade. It is also a very manly knife, which my husband loved. Definitely recommend and maybe look at future purchases in different sizes and shapes too.

Id bought this knife just over a year ago as a birthday gift and unfortunately the knife had chipped after about the 3rd use. Not a problem though as when we contacted them via email-- just to see what we'd need to replace it-- they took our info and sent a new one out to us completely free of charge (no shipping or handling costs either!) The new knife works great, I suspect the chip was just due to the fact that its made by hand or due to repeated stress on the blade, either from shipping or something else. Regardless the product and service was wonderful and hassle free!

Extremely well-made knife. Super sharp and very distinct looking. NOT for beginners...you'll need to have serious knife skills to wield this in your kitchen. It is heavy and balanced very differently from a typical chefs knife or cleaver, but if you know what your doing, it's a great blade. Spend the extra money and get the leather sheath, it's worth it.
