I got the black knife block which is solid wood with a nice smooth paint finish. It had all the necessary slots for the knives that came with the set. Very easy to clean and look sharp. The set of knives comes with everything that you’ll probably need to cut with. I mostly use the chefs knife. The knives are nicely made one solid piece of metal. All of these knives are extremely sharp. Not sure how long it will be before I have to re-sharpen. The finish is very nice cosmetic wise with the all stainless look. The handles are big and round but sometimes it feels like it rotates in your hand while you cut something hard like a sweet potato. The blade portion seems to be a little thinner than my other knives from Germany. The knives are well balanced as the center of gravity is right where the blade meets the handle. The only issue I had was the paring knife as the handle is somewhat larger in girth and length than my previous pairing knives it was a bit awkward to handle the knife. Other than that all the other knives function well and easy to clean.

My guy was a bit upset that I got this set without consulting him first. He didn't even know we needed a new set. Well I'm using them more often then he does. We needed a new set. I really like the stainless steel. So far, they haven't needed sharpening. I use the bread, the chopping, and the paring knife the most. Of course we use the steak knives a lot, and they work great.

I gifted these to my girlfriend for her birthday last year. She's not a lioness in the kitchen, but she does cook for herself and she never has the knives she needs and always ask me to help her pick out a set. So, I got these for her and she absolutely loves them. They come with a sharpener in the block which helps her because she doesn't sharpen her own knives and there is enough variety that she has everything she could ever need to make her dinners. I recommend them for anyone starting out building up their kitchen that needs something reliable but not professional.

This is actually the FIRST knife set I have ever been compelled to get---and I am not disappointed! The finish on these knives is stunning--classy, sleek and polished and SUPER easy to clean! The knives are solid good quality, no complaints. This looks beautiful in my kitchen beside my new beautiful shiny sleek fancy toaster! The convenience, too is wonderful---I have never had a knife block before and never realized how great it is to NOT have to open a drawer while you are cooking to grab a knife! This would be a great housewarming gift or bridal shower offering! Five stars for me!

This set is really great and at a great price as well. Its been some months and I havent had to sharpen any of the knives yet. All feel just as smooth and sharp as they felt out of the box.

These aren't heavy premium knives, but they're leaps ahead of the usual inexpensive box store sets. It has all the variety you would need for a pretty busy kitchen. Having sheers included is a major bonus! Everything was incredibly sharp right out of the box. Construction looks decent, but the hollow handle is...an unusual feel. They're comfortable to hold and cut with, so that's good. A couple things to know: There is no honing steel. Not a huge problem for me, as I don't love them anyway. But worth noting. Also, I got the grey block. It's a painted block, but there were some chips in the paint right out of the box. I probably would go natural if I had to do it again.
