    • It's strong, but even its lowest setting feels too fast

My only complaint with this machine has been that even on the lowest setting the rate it spins to mix feels far too fast. So much so that it's wobbling and dragging my large silicone mat along with it across the countertop even if it's only mixing 2 cups worth. Without the mat it still wants to travel about so I constantly have to hold it in place. It will also fling ingredients everywhere at the start, even out of the small hole in the lid that I now wish had a cover all its own. I've yet to try this out on any of the higher settings as the lowest feels way to fast for a 'low' setting. The crazy speed that the lowest setting runs on has made this a bit tricky to use and I highly recommend hand mixing at least to get anything dry wet, or it will just fling it all over the place. I would love if this went much slower at the low setting, and have the current speed be medium. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. First, I do love this mixer. It’s just me & my husband, & as much as I love the commercial-grade appliances, I do not need them. This will work for pancakes, a box cake mix, mixing your own dressing, & I’ve just made butter with it. Now, let me state some things that could help you decide if this is the right size mixer for you & yours! Yes, technically a 3.2 capacity, & that’s just over 12 cups. I filled it with 12 cups water & it was *right* to the brim of the bowl, so there is absolutely no way you will be able to use 3.2 quarts of anything. I put 1qt (4cups) heavy cream in there & it did a beautiful job with making the butter. From that, I got about a pound of butter, & 2 cups fresh buttermilk that I freeze & use for French toast, pancakes, or other baking. There is zero chance I’d have been able to make a double batch, or 8 cups of the aforementioned 12 cup capacity, without it becoming a huge mess on the counter. So know that it is 3.2qt capacity, but maybe about half that is useable capacity. I have included photos & used a 1 cup glass measuring cup for reference. Next, I have arthritis & the Kitchenaid mixers I have had in the past would now be very, very difficult to move on my own. This little honey has 4 strong suction cups that keep it securely in place on the counter, it’s compact enough to leave in its own spot, & when I do need to move it I can do it on my own & without having to ask my husband. Finally, just a helpful hint. When I took off the bowl a little buttermilk got on the area where the bowl sits, & so I wiped it up. When I went back to do my normal post-use wipe down I pushed it back & there was some buttermilk on the counter. So when you clean it, take care to wipe the bowl seat & underneath the unit itself. Overall, this is perfect for my needs. If I baked like I did in my younger days, it wouldn’t have worked at all. Update, I wanted to show the capacity & mess. Again, not a complaint, just something to be aware of. The video is when it actually turns to butter & goes everywhere. I don’t use the spatter shield, I just drape a kitchen towel over it & it helped. Next time I won’t be making a video & it will be less mess. & this baby is cheaper & better than a butter churn I bought on Amazon & returned because it arrived broken. I waited a few days until I used this a few times. I cant afford a Kitchen Aid and I came across this mixer and did a little research and chose this one! Damn this thing doesn’t disappoint!! It mixes very well and also beats. These attachments and this mixer is unbelievable!! Compared to other ones out there. I’ve never had a KitchenAid before only thing I will say is there’s not a lot of hand room when you lift up the arm to access the bowl that’s no big deal to me. EDIT: The team reached out and offered to send me a brand new mixer!! Their response was quick and so helpful!!! I bought this in February of this year and it worked fabulous. For my tiny apartment, with little-to-no counter space, it was perfect. The bowl had a surprising amount of space for the size (I was able to make a batch of cookies that makes 5 dozen, if that gives you a frame of reference). The dough hook worked great, never had any issues with the motor running too hard. But then last week, I was IN THE MIDDLE of making a pizza dough, I switched the mixer off for a second, then when I went to switch it back on--it doesn't do anything. Tried every setting: nada. I even took the whole thing apart to see if there was some flour or something gunked up in it. Nope, all wires looked like they hooked up where they were supposed to be. I love this stand mixer! (Although I have only used it twice so far, if that makes my opinion seem un-researched) It works so well, it’s so easy to use, I love that there’s a pulse setting in addition to the usual power levels (super helpful with breaking down brown sugar lumps). Genuinely my only criticisms are nitpicky: one, it has suction cups on the bottom, which keeps it stable even if it’s set to a high speed or working with heavy dough, but that makes it annoying and loud to move from place to place; and two, the lever that shifts the mixer into upright or mixing position is very powerful, so you have to be gentle so your mixer doesn’t pop up with the strength of a thousand men when you just wanted to add in a spoonful of vanilla. Overall, a good mixer is easy to come by but this one really takes the cake. My favorite feature is the suction cups at the bottom that fixes the machine to your counter top. It’s a simple feature but it truly saves so much potential headaches. I believe with the features and bundle that comes with this listing that there is no better offer out there at this time. I was searching for awhile and this product came in at the cheapest price while offering so much more. At first this scared me, I thought maybe it was cheaply made. Only wish the lid was fully enclosed. Dry ingredients poof out the top when you turn it on. Also, if it lifted completely up not just 3/4 of the way. Might have to split batches when baking. This is big enough for a standard cake mix. Trying with zucchini bread so we shall see and update.
