I love the concept of rechargeable Lithium AA batteries as an alternative to disposable Alkaline cells, but when I received this set of 4 KINREECELL Rechargeable Lithium AA Batteries and charged them up, they only tested to 1.504 - 1.526 Volts. That's much less than the typical 1.6+V charge on new Alkaline and 1.8+V on new Ultimate Lithium batteries. When I tried the set of 4 in a powered soap dispenser, it didn't provide enough power for it to work. They do work in a flashlight, where voltage is less critical - the light just gets dimmer as the power fades. The set of 4 comes in a convenient plastic box with a special 4-in-one micro USB cable.

The media could not be loaded. Pros - Actually test at 2600mWh! - includes a battery storage case - Charge via micro USB cable (does not require special charger) - reasonably fast charging (2.3 hours) - clear charging indicator Cons - Plastic label is not durable I'm impressed! My tests show these batteries perform at nearly 100% of the advertised capacity!! It is rare to find honest advertising in non name brand batteries. Includes the 4 way micro USB charging cable and a battery storage case. I utilize a bank of simple discharge testing circuits. Conducting tests with a load of 200mA the batteries shut off after 2592mWh. That is 99.7% of rated capacity of 2600mWh. Testing with a load of 385mA, the batteries shut off after 2482-2523mWh or about 96% of rated capacity. These are very good results. There is no maximum current rating for these batteries, so I did not test at a higher load. Three of the batteries maintained a voltage of 1.46 during the tests, but one only maintained 1.39V while testing. Before the batteries cutoff at the end, the voltage did drop down to 1.0-1.1V for several minutes. Depending on the device, this may provide a low battery warning. This type of battery is known for maintaining 1.5V until it is discharged and then shutting off (0V). Having a period of time where the voltage drops to below 1.2V allows devices to indicate a low battery condition. After fully discharging the batteries I charged them connected to a USB adapter capable of 3A. While charging the batteries flash a blue light (see video). When complete the blue light is constant. The batteries all charged in 2 hours 19 minutes. My only negative so far is that the plastic label on the batteries is a bit fragile. If you are not careful, the edges will peel back or you will tear the label. This is common for this type of battery.

I have installed these in both an LED flashlight and in a wall clock. They seem to work fine in both. These plug in to a USB charging port via the little supplied cable. The only thing I don't like about these is that you have to charge them one at a time as there is only one cable. However, they don't take too long to charge, and it's really nice not having to throw away disposable batteries, because that is so wasteful. Great concept, I just wish the charging cable had a 4 way splitter to charge all at once.
