I felt like the heat was not distributed over the entire muscle area, just more near the spine. I would like more heating toward my back muscles also. The pressure was too strong on my upper back even on low setting. The lower back massaging went too far to the outside of hip, better for a very wide person. And not strong enough on lower back either. I went with another brand instead.

This back massager means business. It is gentle but firm and takes no prisoners. When I pulled it out of the box, it's so thin that it looks kind of flimsy so I was initially thinking that there was no way that it was going to do what I need it to do. I went ahead and set it up anyway and gave it a try, and wow. It's actually almost too strong. I don't think that I have ever - EVER - had a massage that was too strong. Not even professional massage therapists who target the sore spots and lean their weight into it. This thing really digs in, and doesn't miss a beat. There is no padding between the balls and the cover, so every ounce of pressure goes straight to working the muscles and digging out that deep, stubborn tension. After testing it out yesterday, I went to turn it on today so I could enjoy it again while I wade through my endless mountain of emails. I actually had to set it to lower back only, as my upper back is still sore from yesterday's massage. That's amazing, and I love it. The lower back part doesn't mess around either, I just have more padding there and it couldn't get so deep. It does, however, get all the way down to my hips. That's further than any other back massager I've ever used. It might be magic. It does light up, and the light is red. I'm on the fence about the benefits of red lights. I've tried it several times and never personally noticed any benefits, but on the other hand I've also never noticed any detriment. It's there, if that's a thing you want. I don't think it can be turned off. The intensity is basically the speed that the balls rotate. It's easily changable so just pick what makes you happiest. Change it on the fly. It's easy to adjust. The settings do not stay after it turns off, though. You have to choose them again each time. The only feature I'm a little bit disappointed on is the heat. It is, at best, mildly warm. Also the cord is ridiculously short. You have to be sitting basically on top of the power outlet, for this to reach. Maybe four feet of cord, and that's it. Aside from those two things, though, it's amazing.

When this item arrived I was eager to try it. I suffer from various back issues and often have back pain. Upon first trying this back massager I was a little taken aback as it was pretty intense! I had to ease into it slowly but, the longer I let it run the better it seemed to make me feel. After running it for a while I leaned forward and I could feel it had gotten the blood flowing to my soar back muscles. It was really nice! I did feel a little beat up the next day but, a little more time on the massager took care of that. Definitely play with the settings and I'm sure you'll find one that works for you. If you're sensitive you may want to put something between you and the massager like a folder towel or blanket. I would DEFINITELY recommend this to anyone with chronic back pain.

This massager provides a good back massage. I use it in an office chair to help after sitting for a long time. The intensity and heat of the massage can be adjusted as well as the location (high, low or full). In my chair it can sit a little low so I roll up a towel to put under it to get the right location on my back. An improvement might be to have clips or straps to adjust it on a chair. It comes with a plug in power cord for home as well as a 12V plug in for the car. I can definitely see using it in the car but I haven't done that yet.
