Good mattress with cooling memory foam and pocketed springs at an affordable price.
I ordered this mattress for the king-sized bed in my guest bedroom. It arrived wrapped like a carpet and sealed in plastic inside a long cardboard box. It took 2 people to bring it into the house and put it on the box springs of course. What I didn't expect was the force in which it opened when we cut the plastic wrapping and released it! Nothing was damaged, but the springs were under a lot of tension and all that energy came out once it was freed. The exterior is a nice soft, dark gray fabric that covers the padding/memory foam over the inner coils. I like these hybrid mattresses that have memory foam plus pocketed springs that are individually wrapped so one person shifting int heir sleep doesn't disturb their partner as much. I think it's a little more on the firm side, but it's comfortable and a big improvement in the 15+ year old mattress it replaced. I thought 12" deep would be thinner, but it wears some of my larger-pocketed fitted sheets without issue. The instructions state to give it a couple of days to fully expand, which we did. I haven't been able to tell much difference after the first 24 hours after unboxing, but it's comfortable and something I will no longer feel embarrassed for guests to sleep on. I recently watched an expose on mattress pricing and feel that the list price for this quality of mattress is good and fair. It doesn't have to be name-brand, it just needs to be comfortable.

Pleasantly Surprised
This is not my first go round with a bed in a box and I cant help but notice how far they've come since they first became a thing. Despite not being a traditional coil spring mattress, it is a hybrid and I found the quality of this bed to be on par with the big name brands. It was super easy to get set up: take it out of the box, unroll it and remove from the plastic, then let it sit for at least 24hrs to fully expand. I typically give a good three days to be sure it's completely decompressed before using. Also, this bed is about as heavy as a traditional mattress so it is strongly advised to have at least two people to make removing it from its packaging and putting it on whatever boxspring or platform easier. Though it's not at all impossible to do on one's own, I did. This mattress replaced an old memory foam BIAB and let me just say, while not as firm as I'd prefer, it's not bad. Although the firmness level is supposed to about the same as my memory foam BIAB, the fact that this is a hybrid makes hit different. It actually feels a bit firmer, though, again, it still isn't my preferred level of firmness. However, I know that with beds like these you'll never get the firmness of a traditional mattress with really good support. Even so, I can't complain it's comfortable enough. Overall, pretty good mattress at a pretty good price.

Comfortable, Supportive and Better Than My More Expensive Mattress
I wanted to give this mattress some real time before reviewing it, and I am very happy with it. It replaced a much more expensive mattress that I never really liked, and I honestly prefer this one. The biggest thing I notice is the zoned feel. It is softer around my shoulders and feels a little firmer farther down, so it feels supportive without being hard. I would call it a comfortable medium-firm mattress, and it has been very easy to sleep on. It comes tightly compressed in a box, so be careful when opening the plastic. We had mine already on the bed frame while my daughter-in-law slowly cut the wrapping open. I warned her she was getting close to the end, and the next thing I knew the mattress popped open and she disappeared underneath it like the Wicked Witch of the East. 😂 She was fine, but the mattress definitely expands with some force. Once opened, it filled out nicely and feels substantial and well made. I also like that I do not feel a lot of movement across the bed. For the price, I think this is an excellent mattress. It is comfortable, supportive, and has ended up being a much better fit for me than the pricier mattress it replaced.

Night and day difference from my old m
I replaced an aging all-memory-foam mattress that I'd been sleeping on for about a decade, and the difference is night and day. This hybrid is seriously comfortable, with a nice balance of cushioning and support that feels much better than my old mattress ever did toward the end. I also put a bamboo foam mattress topper on it, and the combination is like sleeping on a supportive cloud lol. The construction feels really good, and there weren't any weird chemical smells when I unpacked it, which was a nice surprise. It's still a fairly heavy mattress, but nowhere near as heavy as my old all-foam one, so getting it into place was much easier. I obviously can't say whether it'll last as long as my previous mattress, but I'm extremely happy with it so far and think it's a great value for the comfort and quality.

LEADSET King Size Hybrid Mattress
I ordered this because my old mattress was a decade old and my lower back had started waking me up before my alarm did. The LEADSET arrived compressed and rolled and expanded on its own over a couple of days. It sits at closer to eleven and a half inches than twelve but my fitted sheets still work fine and the bed frame has no issues with the fit. The feel is medium firm and that matches the description accurately. There are no pressure points on my hips or lower back and I switch between side and back sleeping throughout the night. My cat moves around a lot and I do not feel it. My partner gets up earlier than me and that is also not a problem. Edge support holds without any noticeable compression when I sit on the side of the bed to put on shoes. The cooling gel foam does not seem to do much in terms of temperature and warmer nights feel like warmer nights regardless. That is the one thing that does not deliver on its claim but it has not been a dealbreaker since everything else holds up.

A Mattress Needs to Do More Than Look Comfortable
When it comes to mattresses, I pay attention to support just as much as softness. A mattress can look beautiful and feel plush when you first sit on it, but that doesn't tell you how comfortable it's going to be after an entire night. This LEADSET mattress combines pocketed springs with memory foam, which is a construction I appreciate because it brings together two different types of support. The medium-firm feel is intended to balance cushioning with support, although comfort is always going to depend on the individual and their sleeping position. I also like that the mattress includes edge-support construction. That's an important detail, especially with a king-size mattress where people may regularly sit near the edges. The 12-inch height gives it a substantial profile, and the mattress-in-a-box packaging is convenient for getting it into the bedroom. One thing I would never judge a mattress on is the first few minutes after unboxing. It takes time to evaluate how a mattress feels during actual sleep, and comfort can change depending on your body and preferences. For a mattress purchase, long-term comfort and support matter much more to me than the initial appearance.

Make Sure You Put the Right Side Up! Very Comfortable Once I Did
This king mattress comes rolled and compressed in a surprisingly compact box. After pulling it out, I used the included cutter to remove the plastic and it immediately started expanding. I stood it on its side and let it breathe for exactly three days before setting it up. There was no noticeable smell at all. It is pretty heavy once expanded, so moving it around by yourself isn't easy. Here's where I made a mistake that might save someone else from doing the same thing. I found the label along the edge, positioned that at the foot of the bed, and never actually checked which side of the mattress was facing up. After getting the entire bed made, I asked my wife to try it. Her immediate reaction was, "This feels like a cheap hotel bed, I can feel the springs." It felt firm and bouncy, but we went to sleep on it anyway. Later I was reading the description and saw "Cooling Gel Memory Foam," which made me wonder. I lifted the corner, felt underneath, and just started laughing. I had put the mattress upside down. So definitely check the edge label and make sure you can read it normally, or look at the mattress layers and make sure the gel/foam side is on top before making the bed. The funny part is that I still slept great even with it upside down. I'm a side sleeper, and neither my hips nor knees hurt the next morning, which is usually how I can tell pretty quickly when a mattress isn't supportive enough for me. Once flipped correctly, you get the softer foam side rather than lying practically on the spring side. Overall, it's supportive, comfortable, and expanded nicely with no odor. Just learn from my mistake and figure out which side is up before you completely make the bed.

Plenty of room to stretch out
This mattress has a thick, substantial look to it, and the black fabric with the gold trim gives it a more expensive appearance. The king size provides plenty of room to stretch out without feeling crowded, and it fits my bed frame without leaving awkward gaps around the edges. The pillow top has some cushioning to it, but the mattress still has enough firmness underneath that I don't feel like I'm sinking too far into it. I appreciate having that balance because I don't care for mattresses that feel too hard or ones that swallow you when you lie down. The thickness also gives the bed a fuller, more elevated appearance. The stitching looks neatly done, and the sides appear well constructed without looking thin or uneven. I'm interested to see how well it maintains its shape with continued use.
