Worked for what I used it for (not a photo album or scrapbook)

I used this to make a first birthday story book for my grandson. In the past, I used photo scrapbooks with clear pockets, but I can't seem to find those in this size anymore so I decided to go with this style. I make watercolor pictures and glued them to one side of each folded page, and then added the story I wrote on the facing page. The paper was thick enough to stand up to several layers of cardstock, and the size was perfect for 4x6 paintings. The page count was enough that I got through a small story of a prince meeting a dragon for the first time, without having to rush the storyline. The sturdiness of the book depends completely on the paper in the middle holding the ends together, and I can see over time how this is going to be an issue when the paper breaks down with age. It won't hold together forever, but for the next 60 years, I think the ends will be ok. The color was definitely kraft paper brown on the outside, which I was able to stain with inks to age and really add character, and the inside paper was a very nice black. It turned out super sharp and I will probably go back to this format for the next grandbaby.

The package is great. However, Amazon put themselves that they wanted to keep it out of a box and in the manufacturing packaging. I was fine with that but be careful. Unfortunately due to that I’m assuming, my package was ripped open slightly, and upon further inspection one of the markers is broken, and won’t write (the green one). Along with the white marker not showing up until after it dries. The accordion book itself is pretty, light, fits in the hand.. but has two large dents in it, which affected the inner pages. It looks like it will be pretty easy to use, given I will have to cover up the spots on it. Pretty book, next time I will be using Amazon packaging. Functions well and is of decent quality, for the price.
