I have purchased 4 Kindles and every time the same thing has happened. Around the 2 year mark the battery starts dying more and more quickly and within a few months the device will no longer turn on at all. The kindle lives on my nightstand and does not suffer any abuse. I enjoy reading on it and the convenience of purchasing books on Amazon but it’s not worth it for a completely unreasonable lifespan. I’m switching to Kobo since I have several friends who have been using theirs for 6-7 years with no issue.
