    • LONG Battery life. Has its quirks
Fire HD 10 Plus with Fintie matching keyboard case. I was looking for something light to tote with me in backpack. Something for basic internet, email, shopping apps and an iPad substitute in a lower price point. This does not disappoint. It does have it's limitations and quirks, but I knew this going in. The offer of payments clinched the deal and I purchased. It came quickly, no damage, charged up, and was working fine after a few minutes of set-up. It definitely is very much an Amazon geared device. Before I used it 15 minutes I turned on developer options and customized for my tastes and needs. Having an Android phone it was not an issue. 30 minutes later I had a tablet that does everything I wanted it to do. I installed all the apps I use from Google Play(this takes a modification of fireOS) and gave it a spin. Here is the take -- Out if the box it will be a great device for shopping and consuming everything Amazon offers, including Alexa. It does everything Amazon seamlessly and perfectly. I do not consume all Amazon has to offer, so that was never my intent for this tablet. Shopping, music and video is it. Those it still does flawlessly. This tablet does everything an iPad can do for daily uses. The display is not as bright and clear as a retina display and some tasks take a little longer to do, but if I wanted another iPad I would have bought another one. This tablet is no toy. It can be used for everything most of us do daily. The display is full HD, is plenty bright, has very good color rendition and just looks good. If you want a laptop, this is not it. If you want a gaming device, this is not it. This is an internet appliance device that works perfectly for that. It is fast, the battery life is amazing, with the keyboard case it is great for email, and it is very lightweight and compact. Those detractors of this device, in my opinion, are expecting too much for what this device is meant to do. For $190 I can't think of any other tablet that has the mix of features and power that this tablet does. I have only found 1 issue that ended up being a problem in the matching case/keyboard designed for this tablet. The Fintie keyboard will randomly disconnects from Bluetooth randomly and won't pair again unless the keyboard is power cycled. Minor inconvenience, but livable. Maybe return the keyboard for a new one, but not worth the hassle. My only other thing is the Bluetooth audio. It only supports SBC codec but for background and mp3 files it's good enough. Streaming Tidal hifi or Amazon HD it sounds barely acceptable so music streaming is not it's strong suit. Overall this is a great value for the money spent and what it can do.     • A lot of tablet for the money!
The Amazon Fire HD10+ offers a lot of value for the price. The tablet feels and appears to be ruggedly constructed. Battery life is exceptional. The screen is surprisingly bright with vivid color. Preloaded apps load quickly, and there is no stuttering or delay in presentation. The Amazon AppStore has an excellent selection of apps for children. One can easily install the Google AppStore, which adds access to thousands of additional applications. This tablet is fine for adult users, but we feel an exceptional value for children to learn using tablets, as well as access to quality apps for both entertainment and education. We purchased the 32 MB tablet for approximately $145 without the Lock Screen. The size, weight,, proportion, and feel seem excellent. At this price range one can hardly go wrong. Sound quality is not spectacular, and if you download Audible books, or other applications which require significant memory, you will find the available internal memory rapidly diminishing. Highly recommended if you want a very reasonably priced tablet of above average quality.. If you can afford it, the 64 mb version is desirable. Let me start off by saying this won't be a super long review and there are zero regrets buying this tablet. Previously I owned the 7th gen. Fire tablet 10 and I always said when Amazon releases a tablet with the USB-C charging port I would buy with a quickness. Well I'm sure the other generations between the 7th and 11th have had it but I was getting good use out of my old tablet so I kept it...until now. The Fire HD 10 Plus is a HUGE step up in performance. Where there use to be lag or precious seconds wasted waiting for apps to open, now it's just much faster. So happy I spent the extra $30 or so for the higher end model on this generation. The 4GB of ram and octa core processor help immensely. The back of the tablet has the soft touch which makes it feel like top quality. The camera location is in a more logical location based on use. The sound (my favorite improvement) when listening without headphones has GREATLY improved in areas such as decibel volume, clearness, and a surprising headphone like feel. Must be the Dolby Atmos doing it's work there. Brightness on the screen when maxed out is alot higher and when at a minimum its lower from what I can tell. Although I wish it did get even lower for nighttime, but that's just a nitpick. Overall it was worth the buy on Prime Day and will get some good years of use just like my old Fire Tablets. ... show more

    • This has it's pros and cons, but nice tablet
This has a really nice display, far better than the Samsung galaxy A series 10in tablet. Battery lasts for a good amount of time considering I like the screen brightness turned up. It does have a lot of pros like lightning fast response time, great screen, fair amount of memory etc. Cons are adjustability of screen time out, would be nice to be able to set to never times out. Amazon store has a few of the games the Google play store has but not all and the ones they do won't let you link your Gmail, so saved game progress gone due to Amazon's not wanting you to use Google, Google play, Google play store. The device does run Android so you can do somethings with enough time and effort, but not everything. With that said the biggest con is Amazon's proprietary hold on it's product taking away your freedom of choice. ... show more

as i get older i find that i need the larger surface area to see well and this has made reading so much easier. the back-lighting means i can enjoy a book without having to struggle to see the page. loving that!
