I love my kindle! It’s such a good size and is so slim it easily fits into my purse. I do tend to read more on my phone than my kindle but that has more to do with not wanting to drag my kindle everywhere with me since I read during downtime at work or in short periods if I’m running errands and waiting around. There is a lip on the edge where the case meets the screen, this doesn’t bother me but I’ve seen people mention they like the version that is flush with the screen. So if tapping on the screen with a edge will bother you I’d look into the other version. I also added a pop socket on mine and since it’s only slightly bigger than my hand and maybe twice as big as my pro max iPhone it’s pretty easy for me to hold without wanting to put it down cause it’s so light. The battery also seems to lasts so long, if I give it a full charge before a trip I haven’t had to recharge it once so far during the trip itself. The biggest downside has been getting it to sync, I’m not sure if it’s the WiFi or if it’s just delayed but my kindle app on my phone will sync to whatever page I ended on on my kindle but my kindle won’t sync to the page I was on if I most recently read on my phone. I also couldn’t get my highlights to transfer from my kindle to my phone or Goodreads and had to redo them on my phone. It will sync all of the books I added into and returned from my library since I have kindle unlimited I can only have so many titles at once. I wanted to wait a while before I reviewed this, and it's been 5 months now. I got very motivated to buy this when I was wanting to read more and was on a minimalist kick, but after I bought it, I started second guessing myself. I mean, I spent almost $100 on a device that will let me read books I still have to buy anyways? But it's been almost half a year and I have come to absolutely love this thing. The battery is incredible and can last me a week or two on one charge. Thankfully, books are generally cheaper than if you bought them physically, and with Prime Reading there are tons of free books. There's plenty of storage, I doubt I'll ever have to worry about it. The only real setback is that it is very old technology still being implemented. It's not a digital screen, think of it like a calculator screen with way more pixels. So the responsiveness to touch is kinda slow. But for most of the time, it doesn't negatively effect your reading. I was, for a while, beginning to think that I should just become a purist and only buy physical books. You won't get the same experience on a Kindle as you will with a physical book. There's no pages to turn, no colored cover to look at, no book smell. But I've come to learn that the quality of the text itself is the only thing that matters. You're not reading the feel, color, and smell of a book. I think the sheer convenience of a Kindle is unmatched. For example, the picture above shows that I was reading The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. I bought all of the Narnia books on Kindle in a bundle for $6 on sale. I have all of the Narnia books as one collective book physically, and it's gigantic. On the Kindle, they're all there, but it's just the Kindle. Take it anywhere. It literally fits in most of my side pockets. If you can swing the money, I definitely recommend for avid readers who are seeking a more minimalist approach. ... show more

I LOVE that this Kindle is closest to the original Kindle. Glareproof so you can read it outside. It will hold tons of books, font can be adjusted for anyone with vision issues, and looks up any word you highlight and automatically brings the dictionary definition. What I don't like is the icon format of books in your library. I don't need to see the cover of the book! I would prefer a plain analog list. I also don't like that if you have it connected to wifi (don't unless you are downloading a book) it takes you to the store. I would also like it if my dictionaries stayed at the top of the list as I have to search for them to use them. All of my print dictionaries are printed in such small print that I cant use them. I have a dictionary icon on my chromebook so that I can use it. I also use my Kindle foreign language dictionaries to look up words/phrases, but having to search for them is a pain in the neck. Also, if you are connected to wifi, the stupid thing will automatically take you to the store and list every foreign language dictionary there is! The other thing I don't like about this Kindle is that it has no audible speaker. My original 1st gen Kindles did. However, Kindles are great. Can you imagine having to carry a bunch of heavy books with you when you are traveling? You can have dozens of books with you wherever and whenever you go. ... show more

bought it as a reader, to make the print comfortable for 70+ year old eyes, not many words on a screen and with good reading speed, I am always changing pages. Younger eyes, a little smaller print, and a take with you size. it is not a bad buy. I have two older version readers from amazon that are a little larger, but old. I absolutely love my paper white! This is my second one. I had my first one for over 10 years! I got this new one because the old one started running really slow and it would have significant delays when using the touch screen (like trying to go to the next page of a book). Unfortunately, this kindle was great for the first few months, but I’m already having issues with the pages rapidly going to the next pages without me touching the screen. I can try to stop it but then it will just keep doing it until I reset my kindle. Super annoying. ... show more

It's pretty cool. I miss my old one, and I feel like the more things you add, the harder it can be to use the bsic features sometimes. It's not there yet, but I feel like they're trying to make it too much like a tablet.
