  • KidKraft is a good mid range quality playset at a low cost price tag. Happy with our purchase.
I recently purchased another KidKraft swing set which is very similar to this one... here is my review. I have photos attached on the other review which show the similarity to this set. KidKraft is a good mid range product at a low cost. We are completely satisfied with the purchase! Hope this below review helps you in your decision. Keeping in mind you get what you pay for, however I truly feel that this purchase is the exception... this would have been a 5 STAR rating had the "A" frame of the playset had been 4X4's instead of 2X4's and thin pieces of boards placed together to gain strength in the frame. When the 2 boxes and 1 slide arrived I was EXTREMELY skeptical. One box was about 5'X2'X1' the other was probably 3'X2'X1' and the slide itself arrived only in a plastic bag. It looked extremely small as if it were missing a couple more boxes. We actually asked the delivery guys if that was it? They were pleasant and helpful rechecking the truck. They arrived earlier than scheduled between 9am-9pm (actually arrived around 8:30am or so) that was fine with us, as we didn't have to wait all day long for it to arrive. We started opening boxes to take inventory and after unpacking the boxes and found it hard to believe that all that fit into the box it came out of. Assembly took 2 1/2 days we spent 3 hrs each day starting the delivery day and the 3rd day took the remainder of the 9 hr. assembly party. Starting out I'd recommend laying out all the lumber in piles numerically (each piece has a stamped number in the end of it). I was pleasantly surprised when I found the nuts, washers and bolts were sorted in separate bags and numbered accordingly. This made it EXTREMELY EASY to figure out which bolt/washer/nut when to what. Again, I recommend laying them out numerically (number sequence). I used a trash bin for a makeshift work/assembly top, I'm 6'3" and it was just the right height for where I needed some of the boards to be in order to assemble them properly. Many needed to be laid out on the ground and assembled there. Also, your going to need a partner to make it easier. Instructions are a bit hard to understand at first, once you become familiar with them you start to understand them much better. My wife an I went through it fairly easy, she read instructions and assisted with the drawing assembly as depicted. Together we got the set up fairly quick and with only 1 mistake. Be sure you look at each drawing carefully, take note as to which direction each board is shown in the drawings, it makes it easier as they pre-drilled holes and many if not all had two holes side by side with only one of them lining up when placed the right direction. It's a little hard to figure out at times but if you notice pre-drilled holes and the direction the drawings show them placed you should be fine. Our mistake wasn't bad, it was the back of the tower floor board, we placed it upside down which allowed the back floor board to be accessed easily by the child on the monkey bars crawling up on top of the tower floor. The way they had drawn them was with the board raised higher creating a ridge which anyone climbing up would have to clear their feet over in order to access the upper loft area of the treehouse tower. Anyway, I had to add a 1 1/2" X 1 1/2" board on the back area floor where we made our mistake in order to have all the floor boards level. It could have been easily switched around to the correct position however I decided it was best for us this way as it would have had a raised ridge the other way and I felt it may create a trip hazard the intended way. I'll add a photo later on showing what I'm talking about. Overall I give this playset a 8 on a 1-10 scale of how easy it was to build. We've built sheds together and other complicated assemblies together and this one was one of the easier builds. I've read several other comments on this set elsewhere that others were disappointed on the quality and size of this playset, I however was impressed at the quality we did get for the price we paid. The playset is solid and heavy once assembled. It does need staked in the ground in order to keep it from rocking back and forth when two 30lb children are swinging at the same time. For one 30lb child I don't see it being a huge problem if it's not staked down, again it's heavy after its assembled. The set is heavy and solid, the slide is well made/thick heavy plastic. Overall we are very happy with our purchase! Please note: additional photos of the yellow grip handles were add-on items which were purchased separately and added to this set, the handles/grips are NOT included with the swing/playset. NOTE: If you appreciated this review please give it a “thumbs up/like” your helping me to continue to give honest/unbiased insight into products I’ve used and you may have questions about. Interested in a product but don't know enough about it and would like it reviewed? Please let me know and I'll see what I can do... Thank you 🙏 ... show more

  • Great Product, 12 Hour Assembly
Overall the product is fantastic! I was amazed with the quality of the cedar, slides, and swing setup. We followed the instruction manual to the letter except for replacing a swing with a bucket swing and putting the clock lower so our little one could play with it. It took me and my father (semi-professional) about 12 hours to install. If it was me with someone who wasn’t as experienced I anticipate it would have taken us 14-16 hours. The instructions were very well written and easy to follow. They accounted for the little things (like pre-drilling holes where the wood might break) and we only made one or two small mistakes assembling. 4.5/5 on the instructions. I took pictures of our assembly journey if this helps any future buyers. Thanks! ... show more

  • We also painted it with watersealant
I bought this in Feb. 2020 for my 4 year old grandson. He loves the swirl slide. He likes the clock and puts the pots and pans in the mailbox and puts the flag up. I didn't put it together, my husband and son did it in about 4 days. 2 days for the swirl slide which they told me was "a bitch". The swing set part is very sturdy and the hardware is topnotch. The kitchen sink and stove are really cute. We changed the swings to ones we already had and we put a piece of 1/2 inch plywood down to make a floor, but without it, it could make a nice sandbox. I wish the second story floor was a little more sturdy or had more braces for stability. Overall I am very happy with it because its affordable, backed by excellent customer service and my grandson loves it. It came with a hole, from the shipping company, in one of the slats in the wall facing the swings and the company sent a replacement wall, not slat, within a week, no charge. ... show more

  • Do not buy from this seller!
Do not buy from this seller! I bought my swing set for my son for Xmas. Started to unpack it and was missing almost all screws, nuts, washers and even the brackets, clock hands and more. I reached out to Amazon, seller and the place that makes the swing set and they wouldn’t help me!

  • Trust the directions
We purchased this play set for our 2 1/2 year old grandsons for Christmas. It is very sturdy and pretty, but when the directions and reviews say the twisty slide is the most difficult part, believe them. We had 4 guys working on this project and it went very smoothly until they got to the slide. They really needed longer bolts and more patience. They got it together and our boys love it. My husband and 1 of the boys went down the slide together and it was very stable. We are also attaching the kitchen things to the wood since they aren't attached and they get pushed aside too easily. ... show more

  • Plan to spend days for assembly
It isn’t worth the time or money to buy this kit. Like everyone said 12+ hours with cheap hardware that strips. Why they couldn’t standardize the screws and get away from the star and Allen heads is beyond me. The twirly slide is horrible. Doesn’t align correctly ended up drilling my own holes to make it work. Me plus 2 others probably have 16+ hours in to build this thing. Definitely not for someone that isn’t handy. ... show more

  • We love it!
I bought this as it was a great deal. I was unsure what to expect. What I can tell you is I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the product and the support I received from the seller. The product arrived in 4 boxes and a plastic wrapped slide. Easy to assemble and my child loves it. It’s now December in North Dakota and he still wants to go outside and play on it. The clubhouse has enough room for me to sit down inside while he plays and I’m 6’2 250 pounds. Best money I have spent this year. ... show more

  • The swing set and fort weren’t bad to put together
The swing set and fort weren’t bad to put together. The curly slide, however, took just as long to put together as the rest of the playset. It was very difficult. The holes wouldn’t align correctly and was very difficult to tighten down. Some holes weren’t even accessible to put the nuts a bolts into. ... show more
