I bought the unit in July 2025 it worked OK. It just blows warm air this year. I live in Minnesota so it's a short season. Not many hours on this unit. I would expect it would work a minimum of 5 years when the unit I took out was 15 to 20 years old.

My garage, like most others, is not included in the central air of the house. I do a lot of work in the garage throughout the summer, and things can understandably get hot quick. That’s where this AC unit steps in. It was perfect for the garage and cooled the approximately 400 square foot space nicely. It features 3 cooling modes, 3 fan speeds, and even has a timer if you prefer to turn it on for a set amount of time and then kick off. The unit has a remote control which obviously makes adjusting the temp nice and easy. This is especially nice when you’re in between bouts of yard work in the heat of the summer, making it to where you can turn it on/off and adjust the temp from the comfort of a chair while resting. A bonus feature of the remote is that it acts as a thermometer, checking the room’s temp and sending a signal to the AC unit every few minutes to let it know if it needs to keep cooling or if it can kick off. Awesome feature. The unit’s filter is also in the front, making it easy to access for maintenance. The only downsides to this unit are the installation requirements. This is an in-wall unit, so you will be required to purchase a sleeve and do quite a bit of work to get it installed. This includes cutting through your wall/studs and installing a frame and sleeve for the unit to sit on. This is obviously something not everybody will be comfortable with, so you may need to hire a professional. The unit also requires a 230V outlet rather than your typical 115V outlet, so you will need to install one of those in whatever room you decide to install the unit. This is something else you may need to hire a professional for. I’m not going to knock anything off the rating for these downfalls, though, because if you do your research before purchasing, you should already know these things will be required. If that’s not what you’re looking for, you shouldn’t be purchasing this in the first place. Overall I’m very impressed with the AC unit and glad my garage now has some cool air blowing around in it during the summer. The product does exactly what it says it will do, so I’m giving it 5/5 stars and would recommend to others. ... show more

Of course this unit is for wall mounting and not for windows - it's an entirely different chassis & shell than a window unit. As a result of it's intended use, it is built heavier and larger than a window unit. Having previously purchased a Keystone portable AC unit, I was already familiar with the quality this manufacturer provides. My previous Frigidaire unit used a NEMA 6-20 receptacle I was plug and play ready on the electrical side of the equation. Mounting the slip shell in the wall was easy enough since it was about 1/2" smaller horizontally than that of the previous one. The vertical height was identical in respects that I did not need to add any filler strips to make the load bearing attachment secure. After adding some insulation and a few simple pieces of trim (internally & externally) everything was ready to go. My workshop is about 16' x 25' internally so the square footage is right about 400sq/ft. This unit performed very quickly to reduce the temperature from around 93 F to 75 F - about 20 minutes! I found the remote control to be handy, as I keep it next to the entry door. I can activate the unit, eat lunch and walk into a cool shop every time! This unit does remove a lot of water from our overly humid air and I decided to catch the proceeds (nearly a gallon per afternoon) for watering my plants. I don't really use the sleep/timer function but it's there if I ever need it - my previous unit had the same as well. Insofar as I can tell, this 14k BTU air conditioner is doing a fine job at keeping my shop cool, keeping moisture from destroying my equipment and keeping me comfortable as I work. As long as the door stays closed, the unit can maintain a 75 F setpoint on it's lowest setting while the outdoor temp is in excess of 95 F without running continuously - that being said, my shop is very well insulated so energy savings have been on my mind since the beginning. It's a very solidly made unit that does it's job very well. I'd recommend equipment made by Keystone to anyone who needs a functional climate control unit that is energy efficient too. ... show more

This is very strange. This product need an adaptor to use it in the USA. YOU CONNECT IT AND THE FAN DOES NOT WORK, NO NOISE OR NO LIFE. I believe , this AC is broken or or does not work.

I live in a very small, very rural and very economically challenged town. It is also in the middle of a stunningly beautiful area, so that makes up for a lot of things. I volunteer with numerous agencies around town that help the local population. One of the groups was in dire need for a way to cool the community food pantry during the summertime. I was able to donate this to them and we all installed it on a weekend. This unit fits the bill very well. While the food pantry building is fairly big, this unit is able to keep it reasonably comfortable during the hottest part of the day. That makes life much easier for other volunteers and for the food items we give away. Thank you! 5 stars. Note: I have been an Amazon customer for almost 20 years. This ac unit from Keystone is amazing! It's very large and super heavy, so my husband and I had to help each other set it up. It's a solid and heavy duty ac, I can tell already this thing is going to last for years. We installed it in our office that we just had built and it has made a world of difference. It keeps it nice and cool all day long, makes it feel very comfortable. It's a quiet unit and has great air flow. It's easy to use and to clean out when needed. I'm so happy I decided to get this ac, it's just what our office needed. Overall I'm satisfied and would recommend it. I got this "Keystone Energy Star 12,000 BTU 230V Wall Mounted Air Conditioner & Dehumidifier" to replace one of the old wall AC. The sad part is I only realize it is 230V when I got it installed on the wall. My wall outlet is 110V standard and I need to hire an electrical technician to replace it with 230V, which cost more than the AC itself. Another still-not-cheap option is to purchase an adapter. One big downside of 230V is that I won't be able to use the smart plug I have. This AC is advertised with a "smart" remote, but it does not connect to wifi, meaning I won't be able to remotely control the AC if needed. Verdict: if you know your AC outlet is 230V, you can give this product a shot. Otherwise, it makes no sense to purchase this unit. ... show more
