Wow -- I was so impressed when I took it out of the packaging because it really did look heavy duty, and it was physically heavy as well, so very good quality. It has been in use in my horse paddock (covering a composting pile) for almost a year and still shows very little sign of wear. I fastened it down with tent pegs -- it is waterproof, so I do have to peel it back to add water for the composting. Most impressively, my horses have actually walked over it and it has not ripped or shown any signs of damage. Forget the cheap big lot store tarps -- this one's made to last and well worth the money!

We bought this to replace a cover/tarp for a 20ft carport/shed that we use to store grass hay and alfalfa round bales for the winter. They normally are a replace-every-year item for the last 15 years, but we'll see how this one holds up to the wind, snow, ice this year. This tarp is much heavier than all the last tarps we bought for this use. It has a LOT of grommets on a folded seam and the corners have an additional layer of rubber coating to protect. These additional grommets and folded seams are important to keep the tarp uniformly tight enough on the metal frame to prevent sagging from snow load all winter. Also, a tight and equal tarp does not flap in the wind. We can get many feet of snow, regular 30+ mph winds and -30 or more temps so good weather protection is important. Hopefully the thickness of this tarp will help preserve the bales so my horses don't have moldy hay by spring when we get to the last of the bales. Moldy hay = respiratory issues so we'd have to burn the bales - $ wasted!

Yes this tarp is thick and although I haven’t used it yet( cover driveway to park oily work truck on). I’m sure it will get the job done because it twice to three times heavier and thicker than what it’s replacing and that one lasted half a year. It is big and I may have to double it which makes it all the better. Thank You and I’ll see if I need to re-order in about a year.
