Direct replacement for Whirlpool EveryDrop EDR1RXD1. No visible differences aside from labelling. Flows well but we'll see if the taste, etc. are ok after a few months. No leaking or need to swap O-rings after initial installation. Those that have issues may want to ensure the rings are set in their grooves prior to install and possibly use a little Vaseline to help them seat without shifting. Note that this filter (as with EveryDrop) has better implied testing for and remove of additional impurities vs. generic or off-brand filters. ... show more

This is a defective or knockoff product. Did not open and test right away because you only use it when your current filter needs to be replaced. This was a 2-pack. We installed the first filter and it worked ok for a couple of days but then was having issues. I wondered if it was a bad filter so I tried the second one which was such a poor fit, water was leaking inside the fridge. Upon closer inspection, the dimensions appear slightly off leading to incorrect seals and keeping air out of the lines. The box also appears to be a print of a photo to make you think you’re getting the original Kenmore but it wasn’t made from a file. Just a copy of a photo. Just to be sure it wasn’t my fridge randomly failing I quickly ordered a different brand which has been working flawlessly upon installation for almost 2 weeks. Since the filter was out of the replacement window (which is a very short time unless your fridge was already down and you replaced the filter right away) I needed to special request a return. The seller denied the request and after reaching out to Amazon again, they told me when it’s a third party seller there is nothing more they can do other than request a return. They did so a second time for me but there has been no response from the seller. I’m disappointed that Amazon does not hold third party sellers more accountable. Not sure how I’m supposed to trust that in the future if I purchase an illegitimate product. Please please do not purchase from this seller if you want a working filter. ... show more
