This little machine is amazing! I borrowed one from a friend to clean my car’s upholstery (26 yr old interior that’s never been properly detailed) and was so blown away by the result I immediately ordered one for myself! This powerful cleaner gets deep-set grime out in record time! It’s light weight and easy to transport and maneuver into tight spaces. The power cable is really long, so no extension cable necessary to do a whole couch or car! The hose is also very long and conveniently flexible. The water tanks are easy to remove and clean. The suction power is impressive for such a small contraption. Just a coupled passes and the carpet or upholstery is almost completely dry. Really convenient if you have to get a mess up quick but don’t want sopping wet surfaces left behind. It even got chili out of my kitchen rug! I cannot sing this thing’s praises enough! You will not regret getting one.

As always read and follow the directions. I am very pleased with the product overall. The water levels are very generous for even large vehicles. The suction is very powerful and pulls out the dirt. Very easy to use and overall weight I believe most people can handle. Only small fault I would give is the spray can be a bit wide, but trigger control and distance can minimize any over spray.

*update* okay, I’d definitely give zero stars if possible for the customer service of Kenmore/Sears and the manufacturer Cleva. We’ve been calling every single day having to start over with someone trying to get a replacement clean water tank. Eventually, we were sent a “form” via email that we have to print out and send back to Cleva. The form states that we must remove the label from the appliance and attach it to the form, then further states that we MUST cut the cord of the appliance and attach a photo of it with the form so the company can DECIDE whether or not they will replace the part…this whole process has been a joke. This appliance is supposed to have a 1 year warranty. A friend of mine owns an appliance repair company so I contacted him to see if he could get the part for me and I would just pay out of pocket to not have to deal with Kenmore/Sears and Cleva anymore. There is absolutely no way to purchase parts for this appliance outside of Cleva. He also informed me that in his 20 years of appliance repair, Kenmore/Sears is known to have the worst customer service and do whatever possible to just take your money, to the point that he refuses to even work with them anymore. At this point, our expectation is that we are stuck with a $150 broken appliance that’s going into the trash and we are NEVER buying from Kenmore again. *original* I bought this shampooer 6 months ago and it has been phenomenal for its purpose. Easy to dump/clean, great suction, overall was very happy with it. Although I’ve had the product for 6 months, it’s not an every day use appliance, so I’ve maybe used the shampooer a total of 6-7 times. The last couple uses, I noticed a little puddle of water left behind where it sat on the floor during use. Didn’t think too much of it at first until I pulled the clean water tank off to get it ready and there are cracks all over from the inside of the tank. The cracks have spread down all sides of the tanks and the water leaks out everywhere. There’s been no damage to cause it, and you can see the cracks began from the inside (you can’t fully open this tank, so there’s no way to damage the inside of it that I can tell), I have no idea why it’s suddenly cracking all over, unless it was cracked when I bought it and just didn’t notice until they started to spread and leak so heavily. Upon calling customer service, we were informed that it IS a replaceable part but that they don’t have it stocked. We were told they were going to quickly contact their buyer for parts and then call us back. We’ve yet to hear back from them as to whether or not we can replace the tank. The shampooer was GREAT while it worked, which is the only reason I gave the 2 stars. However, I paid $150 for a shampooer I was able to use about 6 times. Where’s the customer service? An appliance is this cost should be under warranty at least a year and shouldn’t be no functioning after 6 months of irregular use.

One of my main concerns when using these carpet cleaners was suction. Though this is the only carpet cleaner I have used, it does a great job of pulling liquid from somewhat short-cut pile carpet (~1/4 inch). I dropped a bag of grease. Not having a carpet cleaner, I sprinkled baking soda and borax to dry it and neutralize odors and risk of mold or bug problems. Three days later I had the cleaner. Four days later, I used it. It did extremely well. The design is intuitive and easy to use. It allows you to clean all parts. The containers have clasps which are meant to fit one way and meant to attach from one side first. Also, the dirty and clean water tanks and lids are clearly labelled. It takes less time to figure out whether a piece goes a certain way so you can get to cleaning or putting it away after use. The water tanks slide into and out from the main unit easily. All of the tools can be easily cleaned. The scrub tool is composed of three parts, allowing disassembly and cleaning of all parts. The hose can be disconnected from the main unit and the bottom compartment which eventually connects to the dirty water tank can be cleaned of debris. There is a filter under the dirty water tank that can be cleaned. I do wonder whether it can be replaced. It sits in a silicone-lined cup which looks removable. One concern of mine was its ability to use any cleaning solution. When these specific cleaners are not being made any more, the manufacturer may not continue making a compatible cleaning solution. Indeed, the manual for this Kenmore cleaner (KW1047) stated that using any other cleaner could cause too much foaming in the machine and damage it. I realized that I could pre-treat the carpet with a cleaning solution of which I approve and then use this as a scrubbing wet vacuum to pull the loosened gunk from the carpet. Another concern was whether the water could be warmed, as I thought the warm or hot water would help loosen gunk. I realized I could warm water on the stove and poor it into the clean water tank. WARNING: The manual states that water over 104 F should not be used. I have an infrared thermometer and meat thermometer, and measured the water to be 94F before I poured it into the tank. The benefit of having a cord / wired / a model you can plug into the wall is that you don't have to worry about it not having enough power to finish the job. I felt that whole unit with water filled tanks is pretty lightweight and the center handle gives the unit balance when being carried. SOME DOWNSIDES: The scrub tool will have bristles that become too worn eventually. Mine were slightly bent to one side after clearing the grease stain. The piece with the bristles attached can be removed for easy cleaning, which mitigates the problem in the future where it needs to be replaced, but after calling customer support and inquiring about whether the removable bristle piece alone could be purchased, Kenmore said no. The entire tool must be purchased. Their price is $35 (plus shipping). The other two pieces which compose the scrubbing tool are very sturdy pieces of plastic. I doubt they will break. It could be a lot cheaper to replace the bristle part alone. That's a pretty big downside for longevity, especially when they stop making the machine. You could order several bristles ahead of time, so that the machine can still use the built-in scrub. Eventually, I might need to brush with a separate brush, if the bristles are too worn. Another DOWNSIDE: See attached image. I placed this beside the affected area of carpet. After cleaning, stains were left. Some small leaking must be happening. I placed a cut piece of plastic bag, placed the unit on it, then cleaned up the spots from the first cleaning session. It took a few seconds, but yeah, there is some leakage. Having deliberated for some time over buying a carpet cleaner, a recent drop of a bag of grease convinced me now is the time. I went with this cleaner because it was highly rate for suction. I am happy with it so far, despite some downsides in design.

I previously mostly used Bissell products, but the pet cleaners I found frustratingly small for my purposes—bedwetters and cleaning furniture in general. I decided I needed to check out other brands and here I am. I saw the comparison video and was sold on Kenmore. I just cleaned my king size mattress which has been in storage for a year and seven months. It had yellow oxidation stains on the front and water damage on the back. Now, the water damage stains are still there, but they have improved, and at least I feel like the bed is clean. The yellow oxidation stains are so light that they’re hardly noticeable, and that’s on a solid white mattress. In fact, the dirty water sucked up from it had an orange tinge, like the stains were. The mattress is drying right now, but I’ll attach a picture of one of the areas that had orange spots. Yes, it’s still visible, but it’s a huge improvement. And I didn’t use the brush insert because this is a very soft fabric that’s easily damaged, so that’s just from spraying, letting it sit for a few minutes, and vacuuming. I’m super impressed by how little of the cleaning formula is needed. I decided to use three capfuls because two to five were recommended and I didn’t think the bed was dirty enough for the maximum but it needed a bit more than the minimum. It sprays such a light amount at a time that you may need to continuously go over the same spots to get them saturated if you feel like you need that. I certainly felt like I did with my mattress. It did make it a bit more tedious, but I would not change that because for other jobs I’ll be perfectly happy with the light spraying. Despite saturating my entire bed, there was so much clean liquid left over. I was also impressed by that because I’ve gone through a lot of water and cleaning solution with Bissell products and the constant refilling for not even 1/4 of a full size mattress gets really irritating. I hope Kenmore keeps making this product because now that I’ve experienced it, I’ll never be able to live without it. I saw another customer comment on the lip on the dirty water container. I think it might be there as a splash guard so that if you have a long way to walk with this open container of dirty liquid and it sloshes around, it’s less likely to fall out. The Bissell product I liked the most was the one in the comparison video. I’ll take this dirty water tank over that one any day. That was truly a pain to clean. This will just require shaking a little at the end of the pour. Not even remotely an issue for me, but hey, YMMV.

Great carpet washer, I used it to detail my cars interior and wash the entire carpet including the carpet mats and the battery still had half life left and I used it on the high suction setting the whole time! Super convenient you can detail your car interior anywhere with not worrying about an electric outlet, also very easy with the self cleaning afterwards A+ rating highly recommended!
