I wear the soles off the bottom before the top shows any signs of breaking down. I tried a high-performance insole to replace the originals and they got even more comfortable. Lightweight, comfortable. Solid safety toe. I do light construction and finish carpentry work. These are great for bending down and kneeling while I do baseboard or flooring installation. Boots look great. They are slightly too wide for me even though I dis not get "wide fit." Otherwise they are pretty comfortable. There is one spot on the right boot where it is poking into my foot. Slightly annoying. I think after its broken in well it shouldn't be a problem. I also get thicker insoles for my flat feet and those should help with fitment. These are my third pair of Keen boots and I've found them to be rugged and comfortable. ... show more

My favorite work boots I’ve had in a long time. On my second pair now! Hope they don’t stop making them! Great traction and super comfortable to wear all day long! Boots are laced up super tight from the factory and takes a bit to loosen. The boots don't feel too bad when broken in a bit. The laces are a bit short, but has yet to come undone on their own. The biggest upset with these boots though is that there's a seam inside along the back side right above the heel. Seems likes it's there to keep a bit of reinforcing in place, but it will rub against your heel as you walk. It's not a big issue at first, but if you plan on wearing these for long hours, do yourself a favor and buy something else. I didn't notice it until half way through day 2 of working 12 hour shifts. ... show more

These sat in my cart for months.. Finally decided after a lot of research, I'll give these a try.. I return things often if I'm not satisfied usually.. Right away upon delivery, I said.. "okay they look good" Unfortunately, thats about it in my opinion. Yes, they are also comfortable, and if i squat down while working, they are comfortable around the toes. The durability of these is weak. It's actually been very slow over the past few months, so work has been on the slimmer side. These boots, come very snug due to the laces. I've loosened them up very often. The bottom of the laces cause the material to bunch up. The color matching coating started to peel day three. Small scuffs cause the rubber to peel as well. Regardless my faith in these is low. For $170, I would suggest a more durable leather outside ... show more

I love the Ridge Flex boot. It goes on fast, fits well, plenty of room, laces close tight, and the boot is light. It's a polarizing design due to the Flex bellow; some people hate it, but I love it, especially in my line of work (driving full time). The problem with the Ridge Flex is it isn't slip or oil resistant. I nearly fell several times because the tread doesn't grip slick surfaces AT ALL. That's where the Reno comes in. As you can see in my photo, the Reno is nearly identical in design to the Ridge Flex; in my opinion, the lacing system is even better and the material is more durable than the Ridge Flex. ALWAYS go up a HALF size if you use orthotics and other inserts. As for weight, this is critical to hip, knee, and other joints: it sounds silly, but a boot beyond 30 ounces each WILL affect things you never thought possible. I have a digital good scale, and the weight with orthotics and Odor Eaters Ultimate inserts on the Ridge Flex is 23 oz per boot; the same scenario on the Reno is 28 oz per boot. This means including the Carbon Fiber toe, you only have a 5 oz difference AND oil/slip resistance among other features. I will be buying another pair in a different color. ... show more
