I've been looking everywhere for a natural wood, low bed frame that is simple, sturdy, affordable and most importantly made in US. Finally I found this!! The frame is light, design is so smart and the wood finish is smooth and the wood itself came from Appalachian mountains! How special is that!! I did not put in the last 4 screws to tighten the top panels onto the frame because the dowels and all the fittings are secure enough. I put a tatami mat on the frame. The tatami mat is heavy so gravity would just hold everything in place. I love my new bed! Thank you so much for making it and having it available on Amazon! I'm a woman and i installed the frame all by myself. Very easy!!

Quality of wood and workmanship has gone down. I've used them since over 10 years, before they sold on Amazon. In this order there were many pieces where the wood edges are chipped or fraying badly. In the last step of assembly, the pre-drilled holes never aligned and we ended up cracking the wood. Tip to other buyers, for the last step don't use the pre-drilled holes as a guide, use your visual reference to avoid cracking the wood. Blind trust cost us here. Also, there is no way these screws are self tapping, make sure you have an electric screwdriver on hand.

This frame is really well-designed and can be assembled by one person in about an hour. Instructions are easy to follow. I ended up needing just a hammer and screwdriver, though a power drill would have been easier. The wood is a pale, almost grayish color that’s quite neutral. I did not stain it but it would be easy to do prior to assembly. I am currently using this as a frame for a tatami mat and Japanese futon. So far it works great and the slats are sufficiently close together to support this kind of setup. Note that it is very low to the ground, so your bedding may touch the floor if you are using something thinner than a conventional mattress. I love how it looks, and I love that it’s made in America from sustainable materials. Excellent value.

After throwing out a 3 year old upholstered particle board bed frame that wasn’t holding up, I finally found this solid wood bed frame made in US at a reasonable price! No off gassing worries and it is a good height with my 12 in memory foam mattress on top. No creaking or wobbling when I turn over during the night. Took me about an hour to put together. No problems in assembly, just follow the directions carefully and be patient.

I’ve had the Ekko frame for about 4 weeks and slept on it 4 weeks before deciding to buy a more expensive and nice bed frame. The Ekko frame came nicely shipped & packaged in a single box, the Full-size I ordered weighed about 60lbs. It came with easy to understand assembly instructions and has the tools included except for a philips head screw driver. It took me about 90 minutes to assemble, the hardest part was inserting the metal rods into the wooden frame, you might want to use a rubber mallet (which I do not have so it too longer). You can see from the photo once assembled it looks pretty good. I slept on it for about 4 weeks as mentioned and on my hard wood floor it shifts/slides easily because the Poplar is fairly light-weight. Unfortunately despite feeling very solid and well made, the wooden slats creak a lot whenever I got into or out of it. It was very loud when I turned / moved in bed. Overall I also felt it looks more like a children’s bed than for an adult. I ended up Buying a much more expensive and nicer quality bed. I decided to take the Ekko bed frame slightly apart (see 2nd photo) and use it as a makeshift daybed/lounger, and will get a small futon to put on it for this purpose. I give it 3 stars for good quality but loud & creaky. For the price I paid it was a decent purchase but I would not buy it again, and would say it is more suited for student /college dorm or starter apartment. Also it is really low, about 9” from the floor and no clearance underneath to put any storage boxes if that’s your thing.

I bought 2 of these to put side by side for a king latex mattress that was extremely heavy and it worked so much better than any other bed I’d purchased before. The height was perfect for my needs and the bed is hardly noticeable once the mattress is on, like it’s almost floating. I am very happy with the product. Excellent value!
