There are three reasons why I decided on this safe. The 2.6 cubit ft size, the hidden compartment, and the alarm. As far as those, they work very well. I do like the design but noticed a few minor flaws (legs will not screw on, difficulty adjusting shelves, shelving lips). None of these flaws would reduce the functionality of the product. Again, none of these minor flaws reduce the purpose of the safe. I did contact customer service to discuss these flaws and they assured me that they are currently working to improve all of their products. Let's be honest, if you wanted to, you could walk into a gun store and purchase a safe, but you would spend at least 5 times more. This safe works and functions perfectly and even the safes that cost a couple thousand dollars don't have an alarm system like this does. Do yourself a favor and purchase this safe, buy some fireproof bags, bolt it to the wall/floor and you are good to go. I would say this is the perfect option. The outside is solid! I didn't want to spend thousands of dollars on a safe, plus I move from time to time. The safe is 50lbs, which is not a hassle if I move. Again, the alarm is a big plus and is pretty loud. If you have the alarm set and use the key, the alarm will not stop for a while until you punch in the code or take out the batteries. I like this feature. Good to know if someone ever stole your key. I give this safe 5 stars because even with the minor flaws, this safe is amazing especially for the price. I previously purchased a pistol safe from KaveySafe and it was great as well. Spend money on this safe! It's worth it and if you have a problem then customer service will help you.

I recently decided to invest in a home safe to protect some valuable items, and after extensive research and testing, I stumbled upon the 1.8cu KAVEY safe. Here's what I found: First and foremost, this safe impresses with its sturdiness and quality. It's not overly heavy but substantial enough to instill confidence in its build. The interior offers more room than expected, allowing me to store a variety of items securely. The standout feature is the solid and thick door, setting it apart from other safes in this category. While it's not fireproof, it appears capable of withstanding high temperatures for a considerable time, which is reassuring. This safe offers excellent value for its size, features, and craftsmanship. It's well worth the investment, considering the peace of mind it provides. However, there were a few minor drawbacks. The touchscreen wasn't as sensitive as I would have liked, making it somewhat tedious to enter the passcode. I spent close to 25 minutes just getting the code right. The alternative passcode seemed even more daunting, so I didn't attempt it. The passkey option is a great backup, though the door covering the keyhole doesn't seem very secure. It's a small concern, but it's worth noting. The inclusion of a small backup battery case for the internal batteries is a thoughtful addition. While this safe might not deter experienced burglars, it's ideal for basic security needs. One downside is that the front knob and housing are made of plastic, which might not be as effective at deterring intruders as metal. In summary, the 1.8cu KAVEY safe is a well-built, reasonably priced entry-level safe. It's perfect for keeping curious hands away from your valuables and is suitable for storing cash, jewelry, passports, and other essential items. If you're looking for a cost-effective way to secure your belongings, this safe is a recommended buy.

This is a quality product. It has 3 ways to get the safe open which should work for everyone that forgot the password. Construction is as good as it gets. The outside packaging is excellent. The shipping is fast and the price is very competitive. I purchased 2 of these at different times and would do it again in a minute. That being said this is not a negative statement but positive information that may help the manufacture and the buyer in the process of a sale. When opening the packaging I turned the box over to the top slowly so I could cut the bottom open and turn it back over and lift the box off the safe. When I did this, I could hear something flopping over in the safe so take un-packaging very slow. The 2 shelves were lose and moving around. Also, when programming the new entry code, it says to press the set button once and the * light comes on. I could not get this to happen until I pressed the set button once and then again within 2 seconds and the all the lights came on and the programming worked. Again, this is a quality product. Safe arrived on time and in new condition - that's the only thing good I can express with this purchase. Product is very low quality, starting with the steel construction - it's super light and flimsy. 4 deadbolt lock doesn't matter if it's constructed like paper mache. That's not the worst part - the reason it gets 1-star is for the poor system setup and documentation. Good luck changing the default passcode and getting the keypad to work correctly. Would never trust another product from this manufacturer.

This safe is the perfect size for my needs. I use it to safeguard part of a coin collection. I also use it to safeguard pistols from my grandchildren. Even though it is quite heavy, I can move it around easily with a dolly. It looks good in my den, and anyone who sees it remarks on how well it is built.
