Size: One Size Color: M: Calypso
Play it safe and protect yourself from the sun when outdoors. I've read that each time you get a sunburn increases your chances of developing skin cancer. This hat is perfect for me when saltwater fly fishing... I tan easily and rarely get sunburned, except when I'm out on the coastal waters; then I need protection. This hat is very light, stays on, has nearly invisible ventilation holes, and an adjustable chin strap for security. I greatly prefer wearing a sun hat to slathering on sunscreen lotion. It also has a clever design feature where the front and rear sections of the brim are stiff, while the sides of the brim are soft. This keep the brim from sagging over your eyes or sagging onto the back of your neck. It also prevents the brim from flapping in high winds. I once tried a "desert" type ball cap with a sun shield on the sides and back, but the soft/loose fabric flapped in the wind and drive me nuts; money wasted. This hat doesn't do that. I'll be wearing this comfortable hat to keep cool on sunny days, not just for the SPF 50 protection it offers. I got the blue one and love the camo pattern. The hat came shipped flat, so there were no troublesome folds to try to work out of it. It has a draw cord inside the wicking head band to adjust the hat size via a cord lock on the outside rear of the hat. I usually wear a 7 1/2 or 7 5/8, and the hat was a snug fit with no adjustment of the cord. (If you wear a large or very large hat, this one might be too snug for you.) The hat is lightweight and offers decent sun protection...but even with the largest size selected, this hat still fit too snugly on my skull, digging into the sides and forehead a bit. I guess I just have too big a head for this hat but I figured buying the XL size would at least be comfy - not the case. 4/5 stars. ... show more

I really love wearing this hat when I am working in my garden or out in the sun for other fun activities. I did quite a bit of research to find a hat like this and at a price I could afford. I am pleased with this hat and the protection it provides from the sun. It is light and yet with the chin strap, it stays on even when windy. It has breathable fabric so my head doesn't get too hot. This is a great hat. It fits well on my head, keeps the heat off the top of my head and has a sturdy chin strap so it doesn't go flying away in a slight breeze. Only con is that I wish the brim was 4" in width to make it a true sun hat as I walk at sunrise and/or sunset. The brim is not flexible so I can't mold it into shape to block the sun. I bought this hat on a friends suggestion, I have been wearing it regularly at work while up on roofs for hours working in the sun. It does a great job of blocking the sun and is very durable. It has taken a beating and is still going strong. It is well built and the chin strings have not broken even after catching them on stuff several times. Seemed to be a well made hat, unfortunately size was too small for my melon. I typically buy a 7-3/4”, this was L/XL and too small.

    • Worth every penny - I have now bought 4 different colors
I love this hat and I am not being compensated in any way for this review. I have very thick hair, I’m naturally very hot in temperature, and I sweat a lot when I’m active. I love the aesthetic and practical appeal of boonie/fishing hats, but I could never enjoy wearing one because of those reasons I mentioned above. Until I got my hands one of these Kastking hats, that breathable mesh makes a life changing difference for me, allowing my head to stay dry and cool and even catch the occasional light breeze up there which is nice. ... show more
