I recommended this rod to my niece when she was buying her first rod and reel. I had purchased several KastKing spinner reel over the last few years and gave been very impressed with the quality and performance so I looked to the brand for this recommendation. I already had a Zephyr reel in the 3000 size and just judging by the specs and the description listed on Amazon I felt this rod would pair nicely with it Thar reel. I suggested she order the Perigree ll 6'5" two piece spinning rod and a Zephyr size 2000. She fishes for anything but primarily targets bass. She used the rod and reel a few times before I got to see it and told me how much she loved it. When I finally got to see it an cast it a few times I immediately knew I had made the right pick for her. I liked it so much I soon bought one for my daughter who is not a huge fisherperson but thats ok because she was more of an excuse to buy it knowing I would be using it all the time. I mounted my Zephyr 3000 on it and her first outing she caught several fish with it including some large crappies and perch (huge perch) and a few large mouth bass in the 2 lb range. She was so happy! The Perigree ll is a very nice looking rod in high modulus carbon fiber which makes it lightweight, strong, durable and very sensitive to feel everything going on at the other end of the line. I like the fast action tip which is very sensitive without being wire thin so hopefully less like to snap like so many are. This rod casts well using 8 lb mono with just enough flex but enough spine to handle some large fish. Light, balanced ad comfortable enough to fish with all day. The price is too good to be true but I can tell you that this rod and reel are definitely punching well above their weight for the price. Would and probably will order again.

I have had this rod for a couple of months. This thing is great, It has the perfect sensitivity and it is not too flimsy. Through my experience I have banged the tip of this rod and dropped it countless times due to my clumsiness and not a single eyelet was bent or broken. It has also been dragged through mud due to a fish taking it under and when it was pulled up it was like nothing happened. The only thing I've noticed is minimal rust around the eyelets. For 60 dollars I truly think this is one of the best rods for the value. It has caught me so many different fish and my 8lbs Catfish PB.

I bought both the 6ft light action spinning and the 7 ft heavy action and I couldn't be more pleased with this rod. I originally bought the light action to pair with a smaller spinning reel.. kinda bought it as a throw away banger rod that I didn't care about.. turns out I liked the action, quality, and appearance so much i bought the heavy action for a larger spinning reel of mine. I wasn't expecting the rods to be this nice.

I own two of these rods, the 5’6” LF and the 6’6” HF. Both are two-piece rods. I’ve caught one of my biggest bass (20”, 4lbs) on the LF and it held up well, even on the hard hook set. I mostly use this rod to throw very light lures, and it has enough flex to excel in the cast. I also used to use it to troll crank baits through the river in my kayak. I’ve hit sudden snags, muscled in catfish against the current on light line, and bent hooks out of snags and it’s held up fine, although it didn’t inspire confidence. Which is why I picked up the Heavy-fast model, which is used almost exclusively for trolling, though I might start using it to throw spinners for pile (#3s are a tough cast on a baitcaster). I’ve had it on the water once so far, still no fish, but it’s only a matter of time. This is my first heavy rod that wasn’t some bass pro catfish combo, and my initial impressions are that it’s extremely lightweight and feels nice in the hand. I have some MH baitcast rods that are twice the price but feel less nimble. I’m hyped to see how it feels when I pull in the first catch. My one complaint is the hook keeper. Holy smokes is it bad. It’s a clip instead of a loop and on the top of the rod. Somehow if I work a bait with slack line, the recoil likes getting stuck in the keeper, and I have to pull it out when I should be trying to feel the bait. This sucks since I use this rod for finesse fishing, and every time I have to take my hand off the line is a time I could miss a bite. On the heavy rod, I hooked my bait onto the keeper to set it down, and as I tightened the slack, the keeper bent up with barely any pressure. I’ve never seen this before - maybe I got a defective rod because I’ve tightened the other rod way more and the keeper hasn’t bent. I’m thinking about grinding the keepers off and just getting an aftermarket one. Anyway, these are awesome rods for the price point. I don’t think you can find something better under $50. But just keep in mind that the hook keeper might leave you frustrated.
