I got mine sept 2020 and am looking to buy more. I hope they did not change quality. Looking at all the 1 star reviews. I took it fishing in california, montana, arizona and belize. Yes the tip is super bendy allowing some fish to set themselves free - pike and bonefish will get off easily. It performs beautifully as long as you don’t try to set the hook like a maniac. Small and big mouth bass, porgy, trout, catfish, bluegill, snapper. Had some snags where I had to yank the lure, hook out of rocks and branches - still works. Aligning the guides takes a while to get used to but gets easier with practice. I also have the blqckhawk which has free floating guides. That is a pain to align. That one has the guides fixed to each segment. It will not replace a fast action or a deep sea fishing rod- you will not be able to catch swordfish with it. But in a pinch, it works. And is fun. Because of the bendy tip you feel uthe fight. I wish kastking would send me some of their products for review. Or at least the missing buttcap - haha I travel a lot. Will be ordering another one and will update here on how it goes. Pros: Portability - can have one in the car all the time Reliable so far Nice feel in hand Light Cons: It takes a little while to get used to casting accurately because of the bendy tip Lost the buttcap No other cons. I enjoy fishing with this rod.

I love this Rod. It’s quickly set up quickly put away store on my bike. Throw my backpack no messing around with pieces. This rod takes less than 30 seconds to pull out. Put your lure on and start casting since I purchased it two weeks ago I’ve been using a daily and had some nice results, it seems to be pretty sensitive and very versatile for a price of 30 bucks. I recommend this things so highly I bought one for my kid and an extra one for the car.

The media could not be loaded. I have caught a many different species of fish with this telescopic rod. Including large flatheads and a snakehead. Only reason it's getting one star less is because the ring above the screw that attaches the reel seat came off and kept sliding up and down the rod after each cast. It got to be so annoying, I had to super glue it in place Anyways, it's an impressive rod so far.

Excellent travel rod! I needed something ultra portable to carry with me in my fishing crate on the rear rack of my e-bike. I tried a couple other Amazon seller brands, but I've recently become quite partial to KastKing after trying a couple of their products (specifically the KastKing Zephyr baitcasting reel) and decided to buy this as my portable spinning rod solution (6'6" Medium). I decided not to buy the Compass combo and instead paired this Compass rod with the KastKing Centron instead, which looks really sharp. I also bought the Compass 7' Casting Medium-Heavy rod and paired it with the KastKing Zepher baitcaster reel that I already had. I actually prefer my spinning rods to be medium-light, but it's very difficult to find that in a telescoping/portable rod, so I was actually pleased to find something less than medium-heavy. The rods extend and retract nicely, cast fairly well (telescoping rods tend to have a smaller diameter lower guide which inhibits casting a bit), and seems durable enough. I suspect the butt cover will continue to get loose and/or fall off (like it did in transport), but I'll just keep an eye on it.

The rod tip on this rod broke after being used only eight times. There was no impact that broke the rod tip it seemingly broke just from regular use. The only thing caught on the rod was yearling bass so not much strain was put on it at all. I repaired the rod tip but unfortunately the material used for the blank is so brittle that it broke a second time while I was hooking up with a small bass. The portability of this rod is great but it appears to be made from very poor quality materials and does not hold up to normal use. Save your money and buy an ugly stick.

I like to stop my some local holes on the way to or from work. My work vehicle tends to be packed quite often. My two piece rods have gotten damaged before getting them in and out and stuff shifting. So this is perfect for tossing in the cab with me in such a small foot print. I normally salmon fish and would like a bit longer but this is easy enough to toss in my backpack without out snagging on branches and whatnot. The sensitivity is pretty good and a good back bone. Price was spot on for being a travel rod. I would recommend this for any travel fisherman. Can’t wait to throw it in my suitcase as well.

The rod looks great and seems fine and may work for some light applications, but it has a flaw. The thinnest tip section is not a solid piece and it snaps under some weight very easy. I ordered one and it broke on the very first day on the very first catch !!! The flaw is that the smallest tip section is not a solid graphite piece, but, rather a hollow section just like all the larger ones. There is simply absolute NO need to have the last section hollow, but it IS. So be warned about the product and if you intend on catching fish that is larger than 16 OZ ! I returned mine and will stay away from their fishing rods. That said, I have KastKing baitcasting reel and it is great product for its money.
