Feels well made and fits nice in my hand. Comes in a box with a soft material case, black and red electrical probes, thermal probe, instruction booklet, and the clamp meter (see photo). I tested voltage readings AC and DC. They were similar to the readings on my older meter. Not sure how either would compare to an expensive meter. The thermal probe was with in + or - 5 degrees, which I believe is the accuracy stated in the manual. The manual was helpful when trying the different features. I was curious what the voltage range is for the NCV (Non-contact voltage detection) as I did not find that in the manual, on the Amazon description page, or even on their website. When in this mode, make sure the bump on the very top of the right clamp arm is pointing at what you are testing. That is where the sensor is and may not work if not pointed correctly. I like how the background of the LCD panel lights up orange if a certain high voltage is detected. This also works when testing for amperage. I tested AC amperage using the clamp and it was quite accurate except when nearing 0.1 amps which I found is lowest it can detect. That's about the amperage of a 12 watt light bulb. Be nice if it could detect amperage lower than that. Would like to have seen a red color designation for the red wire input port like my old meter. (See Photo) But I guess most people buying meters know the red goes on the right port and the black on the left one. I would recommend this for most home owners unless you need extreme accuracy.     • Good clamp ammeter, which I apparently was misusing.

This unit feels well-built, has a lot of features, and actually is quite easy to use. I originally wrote a bad review because I was misusing the ampmeter and thought it was off by a factor of 10x. To use an ampmeter, you need a splitter (so that you can clamp around one side of the socket wire rather than both). What I did not know is that one side of a splitter typically reads 10x (which means it loops around or something to give 10x the current). I'm sure there's some reason they do this. Apparently, I was always clamping on the right side (which was the wrong side) --- and that had the 10x reading. My bad, and I apologize for the initial bad review. I liked the unit aside from this one perceived failing, so I now can unreservedly recommend it. I upgraded the rating to 4 stars. ... show more

This meter is being used in my new travel trailer. I got it because it does everything I need to troubleshoot the AC, DC, and solar systems . I have other meters but this one has the functions of 2 meters and space is a major consideration in an Rv. Being able to read current draw in both AC & DC is very handy.. Another feature I like is the non contact AC live indicator.. I checked the accuracy of this meter checking voltage against my professional Fluke meters and found it matched to the tenth of a volt. I bought this to test if my grounding sheets and mats were working and this meter did the job. It is easy to use and the backlit screen is great for using it in dark places. The only minor thing I wish was different is that the cables were longer. It's well packaged in a zippered carrying case. The directions are ok. This thing can measure just about anything electrical. I got it to check the capacitance of the starting capacitor of the outside AC unit fan to see if it needed to be replaced. Since I have use it for checking wiring auxiliary lights to my vehicle, checking outlets, checking grounds, checking coax cables for breaks, checking various circuits, and the list goes on. Needed a AC/DC clamp on ammeter right away to replace my trusty Fluke 36 I dropped it was so old (+20yrs) it just shattered. Max current measurement for me is about 400 amps. This is a nice small multimeter. It appears well made but does not feel exactly "pro quality". That may be simply due to the size. Comes with an nice carry case, well written manual and two sets of leads for electrical and temp.
