This soft, orthopedic bed provides comfortable warmth even in sub-zero weather. It uses an internal thermostat to keep the temperature at a desirable 102 when the pet lies upon the heated pad; and will remain 10-15 degrees above ambient air temperature when your pet is not on the bed. I purchased two of these heaters to use in two large K&H elevated dog cots w/ tents. They really do the trick. They heat well, the dogs seemed to like them right away and they work exactly as described! No heat without pressure and nice and toasty when utilized. My dogs love being outdoors and happily lounge on the lawn when it's 25 degrees, but I like knowing that they have a warm, cozy haven when they want it. Also, just a bid for the aforementioned tents, they are great quality, keeps them off the cold porch and holds the heat as well. I feel sure in saying we will get much use from them as the tent is removable and the separate cot will be perfect on the porch for lazy, hot, humid east Texas summers.     • Best bed warmer for my old guy

This is the second one of these warmers we have purchased for our senior Queensland heeler. He is pretty old and he’s blind so he won’t sleep in the house because he r runs into things. He has half of the garage with extra insulation and many other things to make it comfortable for him. With his advanced age, keeping him warm is essential to his mobility. We used to use a kerosene heater out there but it was so expensive a couple years ago and it was costing over $200 every week and half to two weeks for heating fuel. I bought the first one of these pads and the very first night he was all stretched out on his bed and got up without stiff and sore in the morning. So no more risk from kerosene heater and the huge expense. And he was warmer with the pad. It worked great all last winter. Late spring I cleaned it thoroughly and put it away where it wouldn’t get damaged. The only problem is I don’t remember where that is. So we finally just said we’d get a new one and when we find the other one we’ll have a back up just in case. This one came with a different cover and because he tosses and turns a lot I added a couple of elastic straps to the back to keep the cover in place. I took it out this morning and plugged it in and he was snoring in the afternoon napping on it. The cord is great, completely metal encased to prevent chewing. And the pad cover has an opening so for the cord to pass thru and the cover stays in place. This years version is a bit different and I like that it’s softer than the old one. I almost bought one at the feed store last week, they are same price there as last year $108.99. But I saw I could get this one in a plain brown box with no fancy pictures on the outside and it saved me over $40!!! Who cares what the box looks like. So I have a happy warm dog with a safe warming pad and saved over $40 on the purchase price (made not being able to find the one from last winter a little less maddening) I’m gonna take the money I saved and but a rose bush and a lime tree!!!! This warming pad is worth the cost at over $100 but to get it for far less than that is a huge deal. Get this and you won’t be sorry and your pet will love you even more. ... show more

I was a little skeptical at first, but this heated bed really works. It doesn’t get too hot—just a nice, steady warmth that my dog loves to curl up on when it’s cold. The cover is soft and easy to wash, and the cord feels sturdy and safe. I keep it on my covered porch and it’s held up great so far. The dog absolutely loves it!! It's cushy but not overly plush, works indoor and outdoor. Doesn't get too hot but is nice and warm and can be left plugged in. The cover is absolute garbage, it tore and has only single stitching so it doesn't hold up well at all. The instructions say to only use their covers but the quality is so poor on them it's disappointing. The bed itself is well worth the money but don't buy the covers, you might as well burn your money instead. ... show more

    • Outside cats LOVE!

I live on a farm, and that means cats. We now have 4 cats that have shown up (spay and neuter!!). I can't stand seeing animals living on their own, so they have become garage cats. It gets cold in Iowa, so I have three heated bed and one of them is like this. I tried this one because it was a little smaller for a shelf I made for them up high in the garage, above their cat tree, which gives them access. The other two beds are a different brand and hard plastic and much larger. I prefer this one and plan to build another cat tree with another place for a bed like this. All of the cats seem to love this bed, and I have found them all in their at varying times. Two of the cats that came together, are typically in their snuggling (probably because the other 2 are much larger and can't fit in it together, only on their own). I took a round bed that had no cushion in the center and placed this heated bed in the center of it (happened to fit perfect as the round bed stretched properly to fit the rectangle shape). They like having an outer edge/lip and rest their head on it and I think it makes them feel more secure. This bed has a nice softcover, which stays on well (my other 2 hard ones had a cover but it slips right off so they are useless). I also like that this bed is not a hard plastic; it is a softer blow up bed that self inflates - not so hard on the bones. And because it is soft and the cover is comfy, no need to put any padding on it, so they get more direct heat. On the hard plastic beds, I put some plush beds to soften them up, and the heat comes through, as the cats bellies often feel warm but probably not as much. As temps dropped even further, I took a diaper box (larger one), cut a small hold on one side (so my little baby cat could escape the bigger ones if needed, and cut the other end off for a larger opening, that all the cats can get into. Then I placed the bed (still with the round bed around it), in the box. Keeps the drafts off, adds security and probably helps keeps their warmth inside it when they snuggle up. Can't wait to get out there and build another area for them to play and sleep, and I will definitely be purchasing another one of these beds, as opposed the the hard plastic. Side note: The hard plastic beds seemed warm all over but one of them got a bulge in the center of it, but not too bad and cats still lay in the bed that I put on it, but now the heat seems to be concentrated to that area. The other also only warms in the center of the large hard plastic mat - again cats still use it, and I can feel the heat but this soft one seems to be heated all over so has just as much heated area as the larger hard mat. ... show more
