  • Rope style swing trainer
The build quality seems very good. I don’t see this falling apart from normal use. The grip/handle is stiff as if it’s mounted to an actual length of golf shaft. The rope is securely mounted into the grip. There is a loop of Velcro wrapped around the lower end of the rope and I don’t know what the purpose of that is. There were no instructions included in the packaging. I suppose the assumption is that if you buy a swing trainer like this, you already know what to do with it. (?) I felt the benefit right away as this item promotes a smoother acceleration through the downswing. That’s something I need to program into my swing for sure. Only drawback, if it is a drawback at all, is that I’d like the rope to have a little more weight to it. This is about 100grs lighter than my driver. I’ve used this as a regrouping tool when my game starts getting sloppy. It helps me to get smoother again when I’m getting tired and start trying too hard. ... show more

  • Takes swing training to another level!
I've tried a number of swing training gadgets that guide you for placement of your hands, form at different stages of your swing, etc. but none quite capture the dynamic feel of this one. This tool actually teaches you the proper feel of the *moving* swing and the rhythm in addition to the swing plane, etc. that you focus on with other trainers. It's surprisingly easy to use - I just watched the videos in the listing and jumped right into using it. I appreciated the suggestion to carry it in my bag and use it for warmup and stretching on the course or the driving range, not just to practice with it at home. That seems like a nice added benefit. It's too soon to say whether this is improving my game - but I am enjoying working on it! One note of caution: the end of the rope is weighted pretty good, not enough to feel awkward, but if you swing this too hard or too fast, you can hit yourself with it pretty hard (which does not feel good) - I guess this is one way it "teaches" you but it's important to relax and take smooth, easy swings. The rope will show you if you've got it right or if you have to make adjustments. ... show more

  • Fantastic Training Tool
Like every golfer who ever lived, I struggle to groove my swing, and this device is one of the best training aids I’ve ever tried. It doesn’t come with any sort of instructions, and the ad does not provide much help, but if you search YouTube for “rope golf swing trainer” you will find plenty of information. The device is very simple. It’s a double length of fairly thick rope coming out of a club grip and rounded off to give it slightly more weight at the rope end. The grip is slightly tacky and pretty much exactly what you would want or expect a club to feel like. The overall length is that of a standard men’s driver, but I can also choke up to achieve the swing plane of about a 6 iron. Your mileage may vary. The trick to this is that you need smooth and consistent motion to get the rope to stay straight and on track. In other words, you need a real good golf swing. You start by sort of swaying it until you start to feel the swing plane, then you can go to a full swing. The rope lays across your back at the end of your backswing and your follow-through, but if you keep everything smooth it doesn’t “whip” you at all. You do have to concentrate on not bending your elbow on your backswing, but you should really be doing that anyway. You could basically do this drill with a length of stout rope and some duct tape, but having the handle and grip makes it SO much better as a training tool, and I feel like it makes it well worth the money. You can groove the swing plane of various clubs, and you have the feel of striking the ball rather than just swinging a rope. ... show more

  • A bit too pricey and too light
I have actually done this rope drill before and not dissimilar from the Orange Whip, you benefit significantly more the heavier the rope is, which this is not. To get a better sense of tempo, its important that you can feel the weight but this rope is way too light. Adding or tying the end to make it heavier is not the trick as you need the entire thing to swing evenly. Finally, at $60, this is crazy expensive. You can make a heavier rope for a third of the price. That said, if you're looking for the proper drill for this, look up Dr. Kwon Golf 'Rope Swing' on Youtube. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Basic swing timing
Just a basic swing timing trainer. It's a good product, but $78 is way to much. It's a rope attached to a golf grip. Over priced.
