  • Got this after going through many other car stereos. Happy Camper!
Style: KW-X840BTS
Sheesh! After trying multiple other head-units (Android, Carplay, Android Auto etc.) I went back to my original "Mission Statement" - KEEP IT SIMPLE! This JVC does exactly what I wanted it to do and is very customizable on top of that! Sounds and features and even the phone works great through the Mic. Very impressed with this. Don't spend lots of $$$ on a high-end unit. (Well you can... but...) This JVC is very easy to use. - Especially in this day and age of touch-screen madness. I'm very happy with my choice. Simple to install and the directions are very good. Happy that some company still makes a car stereo that "Keeps things simple" and sounds great. I'm glad I came back to this one as it was my first choice to begin with! Great Stereo. UPDATE: One slight negative that appears during the day - The center display (Time, stations, Channel and info.) gets washed-out by the sunlight. Very hard to see and the settings are at "Maximum Brightness". At night it's great... Very visible. Daylight is very difficult to see. ... show more

  • Can't Beat the JVC
Style: KW-R940BTS
This is one of the best radios that I put in my Limo Party Buses. Easy to use, sounds great, and is well worth the money.

  • Great stereo, looks sleek
Style: KW-X840BTS
I couldn't be happier with this stereo I installed in my wife's '06 Chevy Cobalt. I installed it with a dash adapter kit and it's perfect! Everything works well, nice colors, and good BT connection. Highly recommended.

  • Good value stereo
Style: KW-R940BTS
Got this stereo to replace my wifes 2008 Nissan Altima 2.5S factory unit. It sounded good, better than my 2008 Honda Accord V6 EXL stereo with a "subwoofer". I got aftermarket for that, amped and loud, but with many many car specific issues. Anyway, the Nissan stereo started having blank screen, partial text screen, can't change station, etc So I got this due to price. First double din, wanted for wifes ease of seeing it while driving. I used factory speakers, Scosche wiring adaptors (antenna also) and the Metra dash adapter. Wasn't terrific, but not as bad as some reviews lead it to be (I had to use a blade, file, and some glue). Stereo is good, a bit cheezy for me but wife likes it. My one issue is the antenna. Nissan (unsure of the new ones) uses an antenna in the back window with a powered unit to boost it in the rear passenger pillar. I didn't connect it, just used the rca style male to the back of the unit. Radio had one channel. I had to open it back up (cracked the shroud around the vents) and connected the blue/white stripe wire to the antenna adapter blue. The blue from stereo adapter to blue antenna adapter doesn't work. The wire is labeled P conn/ant P or something like that. The other is blue with yellow stripe and says remote. So in short, the blue antenna to blue with white stripe is the combo. Test the stereo first before you put it all back, lol This was my only hiccup though. Bluetooth mic sounds good for calls. It has the external one you put in the front A pillar for drivers side. AUX jack behind stereo, so run it left, behind the steering wheel and other junk, pull off that small panel on side of dash and run wire out, then up the pillar. I tucked into it, didn't take it off, but I got it dirty with my "inside the dash" dust (sorry babe). Clean your hands or put on gloves and tuck in with a clean flat head, putty knife, etc. Sounds good with factory speakers, bass on them is not bad for factory, but don't blow them. Now to figure out how to change the head unit color...so many tweeks but unsure how to make them stick. Haven't tried CD, but used Pandora and it was good. Calls are good also. Could have more descriptive info included, but will have to dink around with it. Again, probably better ones out there, but for good value stereo replacement on and older car...you can't go wrong with this! ... show more

  • I'm not new to jvc
Style: KW-R940BTS
I have been using these headunits in 2 vehicles and this is my third. Lots of ways to tailer the sound and it packs a big punch out of even factory speakers. The dual Bluetooth is perfect for work and personal cell as you can customize the ring and color so you know which one is ringing. The seller also upgraded my model due to the one I ordered was not being made anymore and did so with no extra money. True review from a music lover ... show more

  • Much better than the $1,200 unit installed by a Dealership.
Style: KW-R940BTS
I installed this JVC unit and new into my girlfriends 2012 Toyota RAV4 V6 AWD. Once in and on it was very noticeable how much better it sounded. And this was before I tuned it up a bit better. The old unit was an aftermarket unit made by Advent that cost$1,200. I have a JVC KW-R930BTS in my 2000 Toyota Tundra V8 RWD ext. cab. I liked it so much that I had to install one in her SUV. JVC and Kenwood merged a few years ago. These radios are very nice and should last a long time. Get one!! Very easy to install. ... show more

  • Decent buy
Style: KW-X840BTS
Headunit was a decent buy. Didn't take too long to install. The look is decent, as well as the sound quality. Microphone didn't work for me (i may have damaged installing) bought aftermarket Microphone and can talk no problem now.

  • Great features, poor display usage
Style: KW-X840BTS
It looks nice, sounds decent, and has a lot if great features. That said, I'm baffled by the poor usage of the display space available. You have to choose between clock or song info, not both together. Worse is with Sirius XM, you can't even display artist and song on the same screen. I even asked support, and they confirmed you can either display artist or song title, but not both on SiriusXM. Instead, where the song title should be, it says 'live' or the replay buffer time. I am happy with the unit's features and sound, but what's displayed on the screen is poorly thought out. Since the unit is firmware upgradable, I'm hoping they'll fix this at some point. ... show more
