Ok, I'm not a huge fan or connoisseur of olive oil, I'm also cheap! I don't like spending tons of money on cooking oils. I just know what I like and what I don't like. I usually don't prefer olive oils for recipes or cooking because it adds too much of a flavor I don't care for. When I'm cooking, I don't want to taste the oil I use. I honestly never liked the grassiness, bitterness or other flavors that olive oil strongly imparted to my food. I want to taste my spices and seasonings, not be turned off by the oil. I tried some highly expensive olive oil for recipes to see what all the fuss was about. I actually really enjoyed that bottle. However, the brand I bought was not available to purchase again and I was disappointed. The small bottle went quickly and cost a good penny, so, I'm kind of glad it wasn't available at that time because I decided to purchase this and give it a go. I’m so happy I decided to try it. I love this olive oil!!! It's every bit as good as that expensive bottle. I'm glad I bought 2 huge bottles of this stuff. It's great. It's not overpowering but I feel as though it's healthier and I try to use it for many recipes. It would be great for homemade salad dressings without overpowering your herbs and vinegars. If you're an olive oil snob, I think you should try this just to compare. You might be surprised too! ... show more

I always steer clear of store brands. Kirkland is one store brand I actually seek out. You know the people at Costco have done their homework. They have a stellar reputation and they put it in the line for each if their branded products. This olive oil is absolutely delicious. Rich and buttery. I've been getting 2x2 liters for like $36. This is quality olive oil, excellent neutral flavor for cooking. Better than those endless "Italian brands" (the oil rarely actually from Italy) you find in grocery stores at the same price. And, hey, it's literally made in America.
