    • JVC has the best contrast of any projector I have seen.
I have had projectors for almost 20 years including Panasonic,Epson ,and Dell ultra short throw.I have had the JVC X790RB for two years and consider it a fantastic performer in every area.Contrast that can't be beaten, it's built like a tank and has a phenomenal picture even though it is an E-shift5 model my Dell UST ,is 4k and I honestly see no difference in clarity due probably to JVC'S LENS SYSTEM.Get one you will be very satisfied. ... show more

I’ve had a very-good BenQ 10000 projector, incredible all-glass lens, extremely detailed, but alas, lacked deep-blacks contrast. My plan was to buy a new JVC or Sony high-contrast model ($8-range) in two years, which stretched to ten as each succeeding model was significantly better than the last, until e-shift 5! Finally, close enough was close enough! Have absolutely loved our two-yr old 790! It has higher native contrast than the “true” 4K units, and the detail is so stunning watching 15-ft away fm our 145” 16x9 white screen; it still takes our breath away. 3D is “satisfyingly bright enough” the only thing that doesn’t appear to be dialed-in (yes, professionally calibrated) is HDR, very dark. Otherwise, extremely pleased. The only thing that could better it, from a satisfaction standpoint, is a 145” 16x9 locally-dimmed OLED panel, you know, for $8K! ... show more
