Description

The Standard of the West Since 1879 The story of Justin Boots began in 1879, when H.J. Justin moved to Spanish Fort, Texas to become a boot repairman. He was a quick study, with an eye and talent for boot making. H.J. soon began his own boot company, Justin Boots, which he operated out of his home to serve cowboys passing though town. H.J. saw the potential for his business, so when a railroad was built ten years later in Nocona, Texas, he moved his family there to capitalize on a bigger market. In 1908, Justin Boots became a true family company when his sons, Earl and Avis, came to work for their father. Their combined efforts pushed the company forward, and just two years later, Justin Boots had doubled its production and was being sold in 26 states as well as Mexico, Canada, and Cuba. Seven years after their fathers death in 1918, his sons moved the company headquarters to Fort Worth where it still operates today. Every pair of Justin Boots is a salute to the spirit of independence, hard work and authenticity of the cowboys who have worn them since 1879. After more than 130 years of Western boot making, Justin Boots is still true to its roots. When you purchase a pair of Justin Boots you will own the most authentic and stylish Western footwear available. And with Justins patented J-Flex Comfort System you will be wearing the most comfortable boots ever made. This is why Justin Boots has been crowned the .Standard Of The West Since 1879..

  • Good Boots
Size: 10 Color: Rugged Tan
True to size and very comfortable after a short break in period. Fairly durable, lasting at least 8 months per pair on a construction site. I’m on my third or fourth pair now and they’re every bit as durable and comfortable as boots that are twice the price. Iron laces are a must. The stock laces don’t last very long. ... show more

  • Very Stiff leather
Size: 10.5 Wide Color: Rugged Tan
Off the bat these boots are very stiff. They are a great fit, but they are so stiff that it created pressure points on the top of my foot where the bottom lace is located. The boots are so stiff that there is almost no flex in them. To save a lot of pain, I broke them in by heating them up internally with a boot dryer and applying large amounts of mink oil every few hours until the boots stopped absorbing the mink oil. Now they are extremely comfortable, flexible and waterproof (I live in a rain forest). The bad side of using mink oil is that it darkens the boot significantly, but I like the look of mink oil treated boots. The one thing about the boot i was not impressed with is the false tung, also known as a kiltie. The funky looking leather tab at the bottom of the laces. The kiltie wasn't installed and was plastic tied to the boot. Most kilties are pretty long and fairly wide, but these kilties are narrow, and not long at all, almost as if they were for kids boots or a ladies boots. What I do not like about them at all, is the leather is much lower quality and doesn't have the same texture. The boots are a smooth texture and the kiltie is a rougher texture, between smooth leather and suede and looks pretty pathetic. But with using mink oil to soften up the boot, i coated the kiltie, darkening and making it look a lot better. ... show more

  • Leather too stiff and hard to break in.
Size: 10 Color: Rugged Tan
Horrible leather! Hard on feet due to its stiffness. The leather isn't soft enough and will take a long time to break in

  • Definitely a Break In Perio
These are really nice boots. However, they definitely have a break-in period. In fact, after wearing them 2 or 3 times, I decided there was a manufacturing defect because my ankle hurt so badly. They have now softened a bit and are pretty comfortable.
