I’ve tried several beard balms & oils, and this one’s hands-down the best. My only caveat is that it’s expensive compared to others. Also it’s not completely all natural, as are some. But it just works. I have a short-ish frizzy beard, and this calms it down considerably. As for itch, I have very dry skin in general. When I have a beard I’m always dried out on the bottom side of my chin. Nothing helps that except hydrocortisone cream, so I rub in a little 1% hydrocortisone cream under my chin after showering, and that cares takes care of that. — FYI I just tried one more highly rated cheaper balm, and no comparison. — Last, but not least, this balm has a very pleasant smell. My wife loves it.

For a shampoo, this product was a very runny liquid (as opposed to being more of a thick cream like most shampoos). It lathered up ok, but not great. Also, while the version I bought was supposed to be unscented, it did have a slightly off-putting smell to it (but it didn't last). The bottom line is, if you want a rich, luxuriant beard shampoo, I would highly recommend looking elsewhere.

I give it 5 stars simply for the fact that it does exactly what it is supposed to do. It's nothing fancy, mild but pleasant fragrance and works well with the whole product line. The only gripe I would have with it would be with the tubes it comes in. More for the wash than the conditioner but, these products are slightly thinner than others I've used so, putting them in a tube that rests on it's cap can make it a little messy.

I'm a relatively recent convert to using beard shampoo, conditioner, and oil. I'm still not convinced that the conditioner or oil is really doing all that much for my beard, but I'm using them. I tried this out; it was a good price. I didn't think I'd mind the Oatmeal scent, but over time, it has become more and more unpleasant to me; I really enjoy the Sandalwood scent, and this scent has become off-putting. I'll be glad when it is used up. If they have other scents, I may try the brand again. This says it can be used every other day, and I'm more-or-less following it; I used it Sun, Tue, Wed, and Fri. I also use beard oil after getting out of the shower. So, as I write this, it's a Wed before showing, and my beard feels dry and scratchy, and I used this and beard oil less than 24 hours ago.

The only beard product in my subscribe & save list.
