    • It's quiet and it works GREAT!
I bought this one for it's storage capacity as well as the fact it didn't have "stick out" handles. I car camp so real estate is precious and this unit (only one I found without handles) fits perfectly in it's spot in my car. I plug it into 110 while in my apartment to get it down to correct temp, add small frozen water bottles & take it to my car when I'm ready to head out. I imagine a strong man could get this fully loaded to a car or truck, but I'm a petite woman and carrying it empty is all I'd ever attempt - without help from someone else. Items are loaded once it's in my car. I run it at 37F on 12-volt while driving which keeps everything nice and cold. When I stop for the night, I either run it from my power pack or just let it rest, knowing the frozen ice bottles will keep things cool overnight. The fridge returns to the preset temp once I start driving again. I think this is a perfect size and a wonderful price for the convenience of having cold food without the drippy mess of buying ice and then having soggy food all the time & the need to drain water from a cooler. I highly recommend this refrigerator/freezer/warmer. It's even been handy to have when I'm entertaining and have made more food than my apt fridge/freezer can hold. ... show more

    • this works very well
being a truck driver i wanted something to keep my drinks and food cold. this does the trick. i set it at 33 degrees and it keeps it there. i really like the low voltage cut out to save the batteries if i leave in plugged in for a few days while at home. it keeps temp for a good while when it shuts down or is unplugged. this will fit on the passenger seat and is quiet. you never hear it running.it will also fit between the seats on the floor, but kinda hard to get in the sleeper though. i have a T600 Kenworth. i would recommend this to any truck driver looking for a small fridge for their truck. dump the thermal electric, this is the way to go! ... show more

The unit works as expected and does the job well enough. But it's not perfect by any means. It has a large enough interior and is light enough when unloaded to be convenient and handy for a single person. The handles are not meant for two people carrying it, so if it's loaded with heavy stuff, it may get a little cumbersome. * Two of the feet pads were never installed, they were loose in the box but still had the protector on the adhesive side at least so I could install them. * The feet do not stay attached well. If you slide the unit into and out of the back of a SUV at all, the feet will grab into the carpet and just detach. This is annoying. While not really needed in the back of the car, they are required when you put it on the floor in the kitchen otherwise the plastic scratches the surface you put the unit on. So be careful. * The noise level was very quiet 99% of the time. If you pay attention you can hear the compressor turn on but it's below the level of any noise even in the EV I was using it in when driving. But once in a while, the compressor gets very noisy. I can't correlate the extra noise to any specific action that would cause it. I even let it run in the house stationary and demonstrated the same thing; twice in the day it made the extra noise. * The internal temps can vary by +-3 degrees. The concern here comes if you set it between 32-34 degrees, it may freeze items in it for short periods of time as the temps drop below 32. The temp display isn't accurate due to how the physical cooling inside happens, from the edges without a fan. The edges near the top can get very cold even when set to 35 degrees, causing frost buildup and anything touching that area can conduct cold into it freezing canned sodas. Just keep things away from that top edge (2" around the top). * The thickness of the insulation is lacking. While it can cool and keep cool when powered, if the power is removed it can warm up pretty quickly (two hours!). You can feel the coldness come through the insulation on the short side opposite the compressor. While the other sides are just cool, that one side is pretty bad. Wish they would double the insulation and make it slightly larger. Sure, you buy the extra tote which adds a thin bubble wrap like insulation, I don't think that would be enough. Just design it in! * While it comes with sperate 12v DC and 110v AC, and both have a good grippy plug for inserting and pulling out of the cooler, the panel that the port is mounted in is flimsy and it bends in and out when you do so. This little panel I expect to crack over time due to how tight (which is good) the connection is and how much force is required to insert/remove. I can't tell you how it compares to others, but reviews for most of these types of units; even ones twice the price; all list some of these same problems. I am satisfied with cost versus value of this unit, and it does the job I need. I removed half a star for the poor installation of feet and the poor design of them. I removed another half star for random loud noises and the poor insulation. ... show more
