Love the look the fit is better than was stated, there is about 3/16 of an inch on each side that is smaller than the header, the result less light being around the shade. I have a very large window so am using two side by side hang perfectly. The reason I got these was the insulating quality and one large one was way to much money, the window they are in is on the east side of a mountain home in the summer way to much sun and heat in early morning, in the winter the cold is unbearable coming in this window, the replacement cost of this window is just not in my budget. So what I can say is the morning sun did not over heat the room this AM, these are installed behind shears and darkening curtains (told you window was bad) so thes are the first layer of protection. There was some heat between the shade and the shears but no heat on the room side of the curtain ( this is normally so hot you can hardly touch it) think the summer problem is solved, we’ll see if it works as well in the winter. So now my complaint the screws are just crap, when are the manufacturers going to understand we use power tools, stripped the heads on two screws before switching to a hand screw driver…. You are warned! I have told you a story about three layers all of which is inside the window, frame is very deep and still tight getting it all in, make sure you measure the depth of your window frame it might make a difference especially if you have other window treatments. I think these are some thing most people will be happy, the install was a snap except the screws.

Well assembled but material of pleats is really thin do not know how well they will hold up. If you are a good DIYer they are easy to assemble and mount but heavy for plastic wall inserts I used small wood blocks roughly 1" x2" and and made sure they were screwed into the window header itself. If not removing old hard ware would say 30 to 45 minutes per window. I feel they were good value for the cost.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Unable to use. First order was the blind size, not the window opening size. So the blinds wouldn't fit. Then I reordered and got the right size, but missed the return window for the old ones in the process. Tried to install the new blinds and they have to screw into the metal window frame, which I don't think is possible. So now I'm $90 into this investment and I have two sets of blinds I can't use.

I purchased a few of these for different rooms in our house. Black out blinds usually will have a quarter of an inch opening on each side, but I’m ok with that. It still creates a pretty dark room, even in the sunniest day. And my windows are not perfectly straight so I’d rather be able to open and close blinds than get a blind half inch wider and have it get stuck or rub against the sides of my windows. We have had a non-black out blind in our living room for about 5 years now and it’s still working great. No wear and tear and my kids started “helping” me open and close it in the last couple of years and it’s still doing good. It was pretty easy to install too, just read thru instructions on your first time and then it’s like riding a bike. Majority of these blinds come with two way to mount- either adhesive strip (for renters) and regular screw in hardware. Both are easy to install.
