I have a 36" opening for my window which I think is really standard, but as of this writing they only offer 35" or 46". I got the 35" figured it would fit. I started by trying to use the friction mounts. The tape on the rubber bumpers doesn't really hold it on in place, but you can just sort of place them as you mount the shade since they will be held in place with force. That said I couldn't get the 35" to quite expand enough to fill the gap of 36". It was barely holding. If my window opening were 1/4" smaller it would have worked. Even then having a 35" in a 36" opening the expansion only happens on one side of the shade, so the left side if flush with the window and there is a 1" gap on the right. If I had a 35" opening it would not have been as pronounced. In the end I screwed in the two supplied bracket and centered the shade and that works. Since this is a 35" in a 36" opening, there is a small gap on the sides that lets some light spill in. For my purposes and my window design this is completely workable. If you want a perfect fit for a 36" opening you will need to find a shade that is 36". That said, overall the ease of install and quality are good for the price. I wish that the brackets in my mounting configuration took two screws instead of one. But overall things are good and I'm getting a second one for the matching window in my living room.

I recently installed the No Drill Top Down Bottom Up Cellular Shades, and I’m beyond impressed! These blinds do not damage the walls or frames. The tension-mounted design was incredibly easy to install (literally took me under a minute), and the spring mechanism feels secure and sturdy. The top-down bottom-up feature is a total game-changer. I love being able to let in natural light from the top while keeping privacy below perfect for street-facing windows. The blackout function is also excellent; it completely blocks out light, making my bedroom a peaceful retreat. No annoying gaps, no harsh sunlight sneaking in. If possible I will never purchase a standard blind again. These are so easy to install, just hold them up and tighten with the included tool and you're done. The only installation issue I had was the little rubber pads that they include don't stick to the ends where they're supposed to. Whatever type of tape they use it's not right for the type of plastic. I glued them on and that solved the problem. Being able to lower them like a traditional blind is great but the real bonus is having the functionality to lower the top as well so you can have the shade on the bottom part of the window, maintaining privacy, while still letting light in. The material of the shade feels a little thin but so far it's held up without issue. They are true blackout shades too and don't let any light through the shade. You'll want to make sure you get the right size though to prevent light leaking through the sides. That being said I ordered the 33" for a 33.5" window and should have just ordered the 34". I was under the impression that you needed to order a smaller size but after reviewing the product description it says the spring can extend out .76". The 34" would have fit perfect I think and allowed less light in the side. Not a problem with the product just something to keep in mind. Overall a great easy to install blind that reduces noise, insulates, and blocks out the light as advertised. The only issue is the little rubber end pieces. Why they don't just come installed I don't understand. It would have been a flawless installation if they simply stuck to the ends as designed.

I needed a good window shade for my woodshop, and I found just the right one. The color is perfect, and it blocks out the light effectively. What I like most is that you can adjust it in two ways: pull it down from the top or lift it up from the bottom. Since I use a laptop for my laser work nearby, any glare from light makes it hard to see the screen. Although the shade is longer than my window, it compresses nicely, so the extra fabric isn’t visible. Installing it was a breeze! I've put up hundreds of shades in different homes, and this one was the easiest—just make sure to measure your window frame accurately. I think there is about 1" slack adjustment over the length of the blind. The only area I think could use some improvement is the double-sided tape they give you for the end caps. You’re told to peel off the paper from the tape already attached to the rubber end cap and stick it onto the ends of the blind. Unfortunately, this tape doesn’t hold up well. It might work fine when it’s new, but the weather and shipping might weaken the adhesive. I’m sure the company will address this issue, but if they don’t, you might need an extra pair of hands to help you keep the end cap in place while sliding the blind into position.

I needed some blinds for a small window in my office to block out the rays of the sun on my computer screen. These have worked out perfectly. They were easy to install inside mount with no drilling which was the biggest draw for me to choose these. The only issue I had was the adhesive on the end tabs did not stick. It wasn’t an issue as I just used tabs of double-sided Velcro and it worked. The shades are cordless and move freely up and down. They look clean and simple. The thickness is perfect in keeping out the sun and the heat.
