    • Healthy Crickets That Last Much Longer Than Pet Store Crickets

Normally, I purchase crickets for our leopard gecko from a local pet store, and I'm lucky if they survive more than a week or so. These Josh's Frogs crickets were a completely different experience. I was a little nervous about ordering 500 crickets at once, but they arrived in great condition and have lasted for weeks with proper care. They have proven to be much more economical than making frequent trips to the pet store. The only challenge was transferring them from the shipping container into my cricket habitat. For my next order, I'll use a larger storage container with ventilation holes and purchase one of the cricket tubes like pet stores use to make handling them easier. Overall, this was a fantastic purchase. The crickets arrived healthy, lived significantly longer than the ones I typically buy locally, and offered excellent value for the price. I believe I have got the 1000 count 3/4 band feeder crickets. We've had them for a few days now and I do not see one dead cricket at the bottom of the cage . Very healthy very impressed I will never buy from pet stores again. Only problem was the box they came in was open and they were getting out when they were delivered so I'm not sure how many I lost so I am going to contact customer service hopefully they can make this right and if they do I will bring my four star up to 5. ... show more

    • I can’t complain, surprisingly no dead crickets.
Set name: 500 Count
Now i have to admit, $25 for 500 3/4 crickets is a bit on the expensive side but out of all the crickets I ordered, this box resulted in 0% mortality. Now i was really surprised because every single time i purchased a box of crickets, they came with around 10%-20% malnourished or dead, many of these crickets were larger and 3/4in and were very much alive. They didn’t pack any food or the crickets ate all of it, which would be surprising considering the short delivery time for this exact box. But i highly consider purchasing this if you live in either colder weather or during a colder season. Currently it’s 60-80 degrees in California which is a bit hot for live delivery but if you collect the package upon arrival you’ll greatly decrease your mortality rate. If you’re planning on trying to keep your crickets alive for a few days-weeks you’ll definitely want to buy organic mixed vegetables. A small bag can be about $6 and that’s all you need for all 500 of these guys. Also egg crates and water crystals are kind of a must. Crickets get a lot of their hydration from the food they eat so lack of food means lack of water. In conclusion, i highly advise this exact order for anyone with large reptiles. I believe this is the most beneficial option, for it seemed to be more reliable than ANY of the other crickets on amazon, even by the same manufacturer or count. Getting 1000ct is nice but I’ve found far too many dead. As well as my Savannah monitor can’t seem to eat 1000 crickets in 2 weeks, and so many die along the way you’re not saving money unless you have multiple reptiles or are experienced insect carer. I highly advise the 500ct if you do playing on buying any crickets on amazon. ... show more
