  • Josh's Frogs keeps our praying mantis family happy!
The crickets from the local pets shops and big box chains always die in a day or two and they are almost always out of crickets anyway. We have 6 adult praying mantis and they eat a lot of crickets. So, we had to find a reliable source. This is our second order of crickets from Josh's Frogs. We call them super crickets because they live forever and they are active and feisty. Thankfully, we have cats to get the crickets that escape! They arrive early and they are the most robust crickets we have every purchased. Each mantis gets 1 cricket every day or other day in their cage, but we also feed them meal worms by hand while they are out most of the day. Out of 60 only one or two crickets might die in their holding cage before we feed them to our praying mantis family. Sometimes none of the crickets die. Without Josh's frogs super crickets our praying mantis family would be going hungry! A nice side benefit, is that they chirpy loudly and that cricket sound quite soothing. ... show more

  • Good crickets
Hardy. The leopard gecko likes them. Worth it.

  • Thanks!
Josh's frogs has been very reliable even in the winter months providing crickets for our gecko when the local pet stores have not always had them in stock. The crickets live longer than the pet store bought ones too so even though they're a little bit more expensive, we're not throwing half of them away dead before we can feed the gecko. ... show more

The crickets are to big for my gecko

  • Extremely disappointed!!!!
I hate writing negative reviews but figured this is something that needs to be addressed, seeing that I'm not the only one......... I figured I would try it out so I ordered 60 1" gutloaded. I opened that package and figured "it's insect's getting shipped in know they won't all be alive" bit not only that. I opened it up and transfered them to my cricket tank, I then hand counted THE MOUND of dead cricket's..... 25 dead and only 15 in the tank(hand counted them too)!!! So not only was my order shorted but more than half of what I ordered was dead!! I'm trying to find a decent online place that delivers fast like this but boy am I glad I didnt end up like some of the other reviews ordering 1000 and over 250 dead and being shorted...... Hopefully I can find somewhere else😩 ... show more

  • Healthy crickets
Service was great. All crickets were alive and healthy on arrival. I did like that the crickets were in a container versus loose in a box. I have a Mexican Red Knee tranchula that loved them. Betsy(the spiders name) will carefully grab them out of my hand. I have never gotten crickets from even a pet store that were as active and live as long as these crickets had. They lived almost 2 months which is very awesome for crickets. I just also ordered some giant meal worms that arrived today and they are also the most healthy mealworms I have bought. Betsy will have to live on meal worms for the winter since we live in the north and risky to ship crickets. I made last order of crickets until spring for it is getting below 25 degrees soon. Thank you so much for great speedy service and providing a "healthy meal(s)" for Betsy. ... show more

  • Good crickets and packaging, great service
Great customer service. Generally, these crickets are all very lively, I had one batch that were completely dead. Refund process was very easy and done quickly. Next batch of crickets were very good. Always well packaged. In winter a warming pack is included

  • Pay attention to the temperature before you order or you may get death.....
I have bought from Josh's Frogs numerous times for my cricket needs and had absolutely no issue. However, when they say be aware of the temp's before you order, they mean it. This last order I received, I could smell through the box. I knew it would not be good. All of the crickets were dead and had turned to mush in the bottom of the container. So, buyer beware of the temps before you order. Wait until the temps are cooler and then order away. ... show more
