  • Excellent movie.
Arrived earlier than expected. If you’re a Robin Williams fan and you haven’t seen this movie it’s absolutely worth purchasing. I’ve seen the movie many times. Decided to get rid of my VHS copy definitely needed it on DVD. It’s a delightful movie. You’ll laugh and possibly cry and then laugh again.

  • This is one of my all time favorite movies for Christmas
This is one of my all time favorite movies for Christmas. The theme is loosely based on Christmas toys and the value of childhood meaning happiness in simplicity. Robin Williams shines as a happy go lucky heir to millionaire father who passes away and leaves the toy company to his son. The uncle, a retired military commander wants to make war toys, and vies for possession of the company. When Robin's love interest shows support, he kicks his fight back into high gear and beats the war toys with old fashioned ones in a battle of fire versus fur. Quirky soundtrack, bright beautiful scenery and a robot sister make this film unforgettable! A must for family, rated PG due to a few off-hand slightly naughty commentary. ... show more

  • Prescient picture
Once again, a good quality recording. A very offbeat, surprising story with quirky visuals. Strangely predicted the use of toys as weapons. Drones, anyone?

  • A movie that persists
I first saw Toys in the theaters. The movie was surreal, funny, oddly-paced, and utterly gorgeous; it was like nothing I would see again for 10 years until Amelie would come out. 16 years later, it holds up. It's still just as original, quirky, beautiful and engaging as when I first saw it. And the soundtrack is just as fresh and delightful as when I first heard it. It has its flaws - the message is heavy-handed, some of the jokes are strained, and the star is still Robin Williams truly pushing the boundaries of his acting skills by being Robin Williams. But the warmth, charm, and child-like wonder persist and delight. ... show more

  • LL Cool J, Joan Cusac
Do I really have to review this movie? This is a 1992 classic that continues to deliver. Basically, a billionaire toy mogul dies and leaves his toy industry to his incompetent, nostalgic, idiot son (Robin Williams). However, the son does not have full control of the company and the powers that be decide that military toys are the future. How does this semi-dark comedy end...you'll have to buy it to find out. With a cast of characters by the names of Robin Williams, LL Cool J, Joan Cusac, and Michael Gambon you're in for a treat. No to to mention, Jamie Foxx's first appearance in a feature length film. Be the one to own and enjoy this nostalgic masterpiece from the annals of cinematic history. TL;DR: Nostalgically driven movie with many stars you may have heard of, will not blow you away by any means. ... show more
