My yarn winder did not come with a screw or the screwdriver so I had to email the seller and they were able to send those parts to me separately without charge apart from that it works great for small quantities of yarn

The winder works well enough. Pieces were missing and the one I received had obviously seen heavy use prior to me. Not really an issue, because I could make the missing parts and used is not really an issue as long as I know I am buying a used product, which I didn't. I didn't return it because it still worked and only took a little to clean it up and replace the missing parts to make it fully operational. Parts missing: -Tensioner hardware and clamp -Allen wrench -screw to attach plate to hold the guide. ... show more

this is my second time ordering this product. the screw, wrench, and gasket were missing both times for the tensioner. the winder works amazingly. i have been using my hand to hold the yarn because i cant use the tensioner.

This yarn winder is so much better than my prior one. The included yarn tensioner prevents my cakes from flying off or ending up being fluffy messes. I love this winder!! I don't even attach it to a surface. I just hold it with one hand and wind with the other. It is great for when the skeins get toward the end and the yarn starts to tangle. Then I just roll up a ball and the yarn feeds out of the center...and no more tangles! Then, when the ball starts to get messy, I roll it again into a smaller ball. ... show more

The yarn winder is easy to set up and use, and it works just fine. I think the tensioner is a very good idea and would work for some purposes, but I find the tensioner a little difficult to use with a swift. The yarns I was trying to wind come on skeins, and I use an umbrella swift that attaches to a table. I couldn’t figure out how to place the swift, tensioner and winder where everything ran smoothly. That may be because of the type of yarn I was using, I don’t know. I can use my fingers to lead the yarn from the swift to the tensioner, but I found it easier to just use my fingers to control the yarn without the tensioner. ... show more
