One of the best hair conditioners out there. Love love love love love love. Makes my long hair very manageable and soft. Protip, put it in your hair at night before you go to bed and let it soak in all night. Wow in the morning your hair's so soft.

I dye my hair once every 5 weeks. I've been doing this for 15+ years - I started going gray very early. As anyone who dyes their hair regularly knows, this takes a toll on your hair. Although I'm very careful (washing only once a week), sometimes my hair is just a little fried. My stylist recommended this to me before I did another full color transition. It's easy to use - just put it in at night before you're going to wash your hair - I then braid my hair - and sleep on it. It has a very pleasant smell (at least i think so) and then the next day, just wash and condition like normal! I do have a silk pillowcase, and always put a different pillowcase on the nights I use this - I have no idea if it would stain the silk - it doesn't leave any residue on a normal pillowcase - but I didn't want to take the risk. I read an article on the overnight serums that seemed to promise having your hair look less frizzy and messed up when you wake up in the morning. Most of them were expensive (Crown Affair, $58) so I did some looking around and decided to try Joico's version ($29 and free shipping). My hair is wavy and will tend to curls if treated right, but when I blow it out inevitably overnight it frizzes out and doesn't hold the blow out. Half wavy and half straight and never in the "oh that's so cute" version you could imagine. I've used Joico Defy Damage for about 2 weeks. Putting it on the ends, and middle of my strands but not the scalp/roots and brushing my hair right before bed. My DIY blowouts have been holding up for 2-3 days. Just get up and brush my hair and go. That is not normal and the only thing that changed was using this at night. It may not look like I just had my hair done, but it's close and I haven't had to just shove my hair into a clip to get by an extra day. Big fan. Will keep using. ... show more
