  • Good quality, fairly straightforward set up
Color: Gray Size: 10x12FT
The media could not be loaded. This is going to come in 4 different boxes, two are going to have your legs and larger materials, one is going to be roof material and another will be your other misc wood. Follow the directions and lay everything out step by step and it’s fairly easy to follow. It looks solid when it’s together. I got mine up and it decided to snow on us right away. Even though I don’t have mine anchored and some decent winds came in before the snow, it stayed pretty still. I’m ready for it to warm back up and be able to use this. It is a birthday gift to my wife and she can’t wait to enjoy time under it. ... show more

  • Installation Notes
Color: Gray Size: 10x12FT
NOTE: These comments were written in the moment, as I assembled this 10' x 12' gazebo. 1. The kit should come with written/diagram directions. The video is nice but does not show enough of the details, and must be studied over and over. 2. The 4x4 post sides should be labeled A, B, C, D so the corresponding 2x6 boards line up with the proper sides. You could put the letters on the top, where they won't be seen after assembly. 3. The screw holes (for H6) were not big enough -- should be 1/4 inch. The first screw head stripped out when trying to get it in. I had to drill them out better for the right fit. 4. Braces (11 & 12) should NOT have predrilled holes. When I used the holes on the first post (that lined up properly and was not turned), there was a gap between the brace and the 4x4 post. After that, none of the posts lined up (per comment 2), but I was able to snug in the braces tightly, so they worked more effectively. Just instruct people to do that. 5. Emphasize that when the T2 plate is installed, that the two rectangular holes are at the top. Otherwise, later in the installation process, the curtain hanger rods will not work and that plate will have to be turned 180 degrees. Ask me how I know this. 6. The video directions are wrong: They say that when G1 is put in place, at the top, to connect the CC bolt with the H9 washer and DD nut. But the CC bolt is too short (QQ & KK are also too short). It is actually the JJ bolt that is needed here. 7. Oh, and here's the saddest entry: I finished putting the roof braces into position and opened the last box, the one with the roofing panels, and what did I find? The (insert cuss word here) written directions. What a cruel joke - to put the directions in the last box I would open in order to build this contraption. Please find the person responsible and flog them into unconsciousness. If you are going to put the directions anywhere, put them in with the posts -- they are the first things we assemble. And don't tell me I should have opened everything and done an inventory to be sure everything was there -- that last box of roof panels is too heavy and awkward and in a separate box with screwed in cross braces to hold everything and will not happen under normal circumstances. Plus, the directions were under the foam and tape, and not readily visible until the box was completely opened and laid out. And if you opened the other end, you might not even find the directions until the roof panels were all on! 8. Insert a note - in bold lettering - at the top of page 13 (upper roof panels installation), and the top of page 18 (lower roof panels installation) - that says DO NOT put screws into the bottom of the roof panels at this time, because they will be held in place with the (S) brackets - as seen on the next page. Otherwise, a person might unknowingly put screws into the obvious openings without realizing that a bracket is also needed but not mentioned until the next (insert cuss word here) page, and have to do them all over again. On that note: Let me suggest that a person carry the S brackets in a pocket, so they can be installed at the same time as the roof panels, so you are not going back over the same area again. Is quicker and more efficient. 9. As I was finishing the roof, I was short 3 GG bolts. I was able to replace the bolts for the end caps (Y3) with 2 extra QQ bolts. 10. I set up the gazebo with my wife's help at the beginning, getting the posts and side boards in place (leaned one section up against the house where we wanted it to eventually stand, while she held the other side of posts and I connected the 12 foot long boards), then I did the rest by myself--hard but doable. But I would highly recommend that two people do the roof, each with 8 foot ladders. I did it myself, but it was terribly hard, and I was up and down the (insert cuss word) ladder a hundred times. 11. I used a drill with a 10mm socket attached and a socket wrench with a 10mm socket to do the bolts with nuts. And used a 5/32 and a 7/32 Allen hex bit sockets with a drill bit and socket wrench. Speeds things up significantly. 12. All in all, I would say it took me about 10 to 12 hours to assemble the gazebo, as I said, mostly by myself. Two people with the right tools, who know what they are doing, can probably knock this out in about 6 hours or so. It's not a race. Some things just take time and patience. ... show more
