I had to replace our 16' garage door bottom seal and this worked great. Word to the wise, this installs much easier with 2 people, one pushing and one pulling. Also use some soapy water to help it slide on easier. It fits perfect, seals great to the concrete floor so no water or bugs come in. Lay it out a day or 2 before so it isn't all kinked up when you try to put it on. Way better quality and cheaper than the ones you find at the big box stores. I bought 2 different sizes for my garage doors. Size was perfect and easy to cut. Installation was easy to install on the small door but on the big door I had to use wd40 to make it easy as it was getting stuck. But looks great and worked good. One thing my garage door was getting forced to open for couple days after closing them as the hight of the closed door was changes as these will let the door to be closed a little higher but that got fixed after couple of days. ... show more

    • Good Quality Seal, But Be Prepared for Some Adjustments

This is a great quality rubber seal that does its job well. Removing my old, worn-out weather stripping was the easy part. I followed the instructions and cleaned the track on the bottom of the door as best as I could, but my door is older and the track was a bit rusty. Instead of replacing the whole track, I decided to try and slide the new seal in. It took some patience and about 30 minutes of slowly working it, but I was able to get it in securely. After installation, I ran into another snag: the garage door wouldn't close all the way because the new, thicker seal prevented it from making a full connection. This required me to adjust the travel limits on my garage door opener. Once I made that adjustment, the door closed perfectly. So, while the seal itself is excellent and creates a tight barrier, be aware that you might need to put in some extra effort, especially with an older garage door. I am very happy with the results. Old insulation strip was worn out. This replacement is much better than original. We cleaned the tracks and sprayed some silicone lube on and they went on very nicely.

This is a very good replacement seal for the bottom of a 16-foot wide garage door. The thickness of the material is significant such that, together with the round rubber tube at the center, this gasket creates a very tight seal between the garage door and garage floor. Installation was a bit difficult. First, it's really a two-person job. I tried to install it by myself, but quickly needed a second set of hands after installing about six feet into the existing aluminum track. The instructions state to use soapy water, which is actually critical, since attempting to install this rubber gasket dry would be near impossible. Two persons are needed -- one to pull the gasket, the other to form the gasket into a U-shape so it slides into the dual T-tracks properly. Second person needs to bend the gasket because it is shipped flat and coiled in a roll. Even at that, we had to reverse twice because one side of the gasket popped off the track. To lubricate the gasket, we used one-half cup (about 120 ml) liquid dish soap to one cup (240 ml) water. We wet about two feet (0.6 meter) of gasket at a time using a dish sponge. Fits very well. Initially, the material appears somewhat hard, resulting in gaps between the seal and the garage floor. After a couple of days, the rubber seal fitted well to the concrete floor, with no air gaps.

    • Make sure you have the right T-slot

Looks like a good seal. Had to replace the original T-Slot extrusion which was plastic and too small. Have to ding Jin&Bao here, you have to buy the seal and extrusion together, not available separately, and at the time I did not know I needed a new extrusion. Tried contacting the vendor to get the extrusion but no response. american garage door supply had the correct part at a great price with no hassles. ... show more

This worked very well for me. I did let it sit in the sun for a little bit to make it more flexible and i used lithium grease in the tracks to help get it into place. i have a 9' door so i did this by myself and took about 45 minutes (arms got tired reaching up al the time). cutting it to fix was easy using sturdy scissors. Just be warned.. if you use a garage door opener, it will probably reversed itself when the door goes down since the material is thicker than the original seal but after a couple days, the new seal conformed properly and i haven't had an issue with the door. After a major rainstorm, the seal worked perfectly. i like the tube inside which my original did not have. my original always has some leakage but this one had no water come through. ... show more
