  • Great Device for it's Intended Purpose!
Does a great job for short limited tasks. Pretty easy to install if you're a 'handy person' with normal household tools and plumbing skills. I had to use tons of Teflon Tape to get the threads to stop leaking. Anyway. I used to have to wait almost 30 seconds to receive hot water at my kitchen sink. Now it's there in 4 seconds reliably. The temperature does drop pretty quickly if you use the hot water for long periods but it returns to the set temperature in just a couple minutes. I just use it to wash my hands, to clean a few dishes, or just to clean the sink and counter top areas. NOTE: If you need steady hot water temperatures for extended periods of time this is NOT your product. Instead you should get an instant (tankless) hot water heater! They're more expensive, more complicated installation, but it delivers hot water at the set temperature forever. So be sure to consider a tankless HW heater if you need long-term water at the set-point temperature. Otherwise this little device is PERFECT. ... show more

  • If you plan on doing much more than quickly washing your hands, do not buy this
Not very impressed. You might get enough hot water to wash your hands very quickly. This has a very slow recovery rate and you only get a blast of hot water, it is not able to function as a on-demand hot water heater. Once the few gallons of water is consumed in about 30 seconds to a minute you are now left with barely lukewarm water. For me this water heater was not a solution, I ended up having to go to a 220 V much more expensive heater in order to get one that will heat the water, quick enough and hot enough . The build quality was also somewhat questionable. I am an experienced plumber and it appears that the fittings on this water heater are British standard pipe thread which do not work well with American national pipe thread, although with a little bit of elbow grease they can be forced together and used it is not the proper match of fittings, and therefore lots and lots of PTFE tape and pipe sealant was needed to prevent leaks from fittings on this unit. As far as ease of installation, after getting the pipe thread, fiasco, taken care of, it was pretty easy to install. I did like the fact that it was stainless steel, and that would hopefully prevent corrosion, but as far as value for the money, I can’t say that I saw much value in this, considering it was barely able to give enough water to wash your hands. I am glad that it worked for other people but unfortunately it did not work for me. ... show more

  • Good tank, questionable construction
This Ganggend light weight 2 1/2 gallon water heater replaced a leaking 6 year old Bosch water heater under my bathroom sink. Photos inside the tank with an endoscope reveal the heater element is isolated from the tank with a gasket, probably a silicone compound. The product description indicates multiple layers of protection "calcination coating", "enamel coating", I did not see either inside the tank. It looks to be a solid metal, uncoated tank. The 1/2" fittings are BSP, British standard as others have noted and washers are required for proper sealing. The pressure relief valve (1/2" thread BSP ) is rated at .75 Mpa, about 110 PSI. I tried to install it with just Teflon tape and pipe thread compound but that leaked until I used the included black rubber washer and tightened it very carefully so as not to crush the washer. The hot and cold connections need to be adapted to US pipe standard with adapters (1/2 BSP female to 1/2" US NPT male) to fit standard plumbing hoses, shown on the tank in the photo : https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09MRQ26HN?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 The temperature control dial and LED readout are nice features. The water heats fast and after about 5 minutes you get a tank of hot water. I think the insulation is not up to the standard of the Bosch heater but it held temperature overnight ok. I'd recommend installing a sizeable collecting basin under this or any other water heater installed inside a bathroom cabinet. Also connect the pressure/temperature relief discharge into a drain pipe! So far all the tanks I've installed have leaked at some point and the mess and damage can be substantial! Time will tell if the heater holds up but so far it seems like if you are willing to put a bit of extra time into the installation, you might be happy with this product. ... show more

  • Works but very hard to stop the leaking!
The person that said these threads have to be nonstandard wasn’t lying. Either that or they are undersized. Took about a half roll of teflon tape per fitting and I had to channel my inner hulk to tighten the fittings enough to get it to stop leaking. Also the directions are garbage. It says connect the pressure relief to the inlet line? Guess people are suppose to leave a large hole open in the top of the unit. On a positive note it heats the water fast and is perfect size for the sink inside my shop. ... show more

  • If you have a tight space and slow hot water!
In the kitchen I had a very small entry to where the hot water heater needed to go. First, a small one gallon unit was installed and while it did heat the water it could not keep up. A new 2+ gallon was ordered and was supposed to fit. It did not fit and returned it. Searching more I found this unit and the dimensions indicated it would fit into the space. The dimensions are accurate and it did fit! I connected it the cold water because the house hot water takes over 60 seconds to get to the sink because the pipes are buried under the slab. That is a lot of water down the drain and we pay for water coming and going out. We now get hot water in 4 seconds and if I out run the hot water (rarely) it recovers very fast. Don’t worry about your dish washer as it will heat the water should the washer need more hot water. Best yet, a happy Wife. ... show more

  • Great hot water tank.
This product is a good little hot water tank. Just enough hot water. I had a problem with water dripping but found out it was the way it was hooked up, not sealed right. All is good.
