Description

Flatwound bass strings are more popular than they have been in years. Their sound harkens back to the timeless rock, funk, and R&B recordings that helped define the role of modern bass players. More and more of those players are looking to the flatwound sound for new inspiration that’s informed by a classic aesthetic. With medium and short scale basses making a full come back, we’ve added medium and short scale sets to the lineup so that bass players can get the full Dunlop sound no matter the scale.

  • Awesome strings!
Very high quality. And the sound.... Fantastic! Easy to install... Fit my Fender Mustang PJ bass perfectly. I doubt I'll ever go back to round wounds again!

  • Measure your ball to taper length
These look great but did not fit on my Epiphone Viola short scale bass. Even though the nut to saddle is only 30.5 inches, the strings anchor at the tailpiece which means the fabric part of the strings started about an inch before reaching the nut. Had to return. These strings are about 32 inches ball to taper I believe, which is not quite enough for this short scale violin bass. ... show more

  • Great set of flats for the money, very comfortable low-tension set of flats.
Great low-tension set of flats that are very easy to play and have nice, even brightness that are slowly growing into a thumping set of old-school sound. They're really growing on me, and I like them much better than any set of flats in their price range.

  • Matter of taste...
Put them on my Fender Mustang PJ, they fit perfectly and deepened the bass sound to just how I like it, so much better than the stock Fender round wound and sooooo much easier on the fingers with no squeak! Will be putting these on my Bronco and P bass

  • Great Sound!
I put these on an Ibanez M20 Mikro, they really brought this bass to life!

  • WARNING - these strings are too short for a short scale Squier Jaquar bass!!
The G string didn't even reach the tuning peg. Very frustrating.

  • Bright enough for flats…
The feel and sound was just what I was looking for on my short scale Music Man Sterling Stingray
