I really like this kit. It's not commercial grade by any means, but it is just right for the DIY type of person who wants to care for their dog/cat without having to leave the home. It has good suction power and is not very loud at the lower setting, so it should be okay for animals that are skittish with noise. Animals don't like the sound as it sounds like a small vacuum. So that will take some getting used to but it seems to get the cat and dog hair on the coat and its very easy t use. the compartment holds quite a bit of hair also and it doesn't have to be emptied several times per use. This set is perfect for home pet grooming. I liked the amount of suction power, and it was quieter than I expected. It didn't scare my dog, and I found it easy to use. It seems well-made and sturdy, and I think it will last quite a while. I didn't have any issues emptying the canister, and I like the number of attachments provided. What makes this cat & dog grooming kit amazing is the brush attachment is easier to hold. Design wise easy to store away and takes very little space. Build quality is similar to a vacuum, one of the better designs is how the hose part wraps around the top for storage. Since I have cats the trimming functions aren't necessary. Noise levels are low enough your cat or dog won't be bothered much, however use the brush while non powered to get them used to it. The vacuum power is decent enough on low, the noise was so minimal my cat started to fall asleep while getting brushed. Very easy to clean, didn't experience any hair sticking to the collection bin. Overall a great value for the attachments included, if you have cats or dogs a good vacuum grooming kit with a very low noise factor will save a ton of time. ... show more

This vacuum hair cutter works pretty good at cutting hair and sucking it into the vacuum as it cuts. There is possibly a big safety issue as the hose that carries electricity to the handle parts has prongs sticking out of the hose section. (see photo). Using the hose without an attachment , which I do with vacuums, could cause a shock as it's easy to touch them. I have no idea what voltage is at the prongs. I tried the clipper part on my arm to be sure it didn't pull hairs or hurt, as that would not be nice to the dog. The clipper part has metal teeth and plastic/nylon looking teeth, unlike human hair clippers that are all metal. Not sure it will last a long time. It works well cutting the hair, the vacuum pulls the hair so the clipper gets it instead of pushing it away. I vacuumed the floor afterwards and picked up other dirt using the long nozzle, when emptying it, the bottom is basically a tray with the hair/dirt on it so it can fall off. ... show more
