Amazing price for pretty much all the things you need
Hardware color: Black
I have a lot of vintage, mostly costume jewelry, that I inherited from my mom. I let our LO play with it all before she was old enough to know to handle jewelry like jewelry, so I now have a lot of pieces that have been sitting in various containers waiting to be repaired. Plus, now that our LO is less little and more into jewelry as something to wear and not just to play with, but still doesn't have a sense of how delicate some things are, I also have some of her pieces that need repairing. So, I kind of jumped on this when I saw it. I needed this kit. You get a lot in this kit. Like, a lot. I can't believe all you get for the price. I'd have expected to pay around $15, just for the set of pliers and the case. Three different mini pliers; each of which serves a distinct purpose. Tape measure, mini calipers, tweezers, an awl, needle threaders and thimbles, beading needles, and a ring opener. The latter feels a bit flimsy, but it does need to be thin. The tweezers also meh. But, everything else is really quite decent quality. Really, I'm impressed. Copper wire in three widths (0.5, 0.8, and 1mm thickness); one each in gold and silver colored. You get the most, by far, of the thinnest gauge wire. You can get an idea from the images in the listing how much you get of each. I'm guessing that it's roughly the same weight of each. And then, of course, there's just a ton of findings in both silver and gold. The findings come nicely organized in two compartmentalized containers. I could wish for a better container for the findings. I busted the latch on one the first time I opened it, but it feels silly to complain about such a small thing, when you get such an abundance of materials to work with. Since the zippered case is really just sized for the tools, you'll need a container to hold all the rest. Fortunately, the cardboard box that it all came in is rather decent and that's what I'll be using in the short term. But, a cookie tin will likely do the trick too. Honestly, I'm just amazed at how much you get for the price. Very much recommended. ... show more

I Needed a Kit Just Like This!
Hardware color: Black
Get the right tools for the job, they say. I've been involved in the miniature dollhouse community for about a year and a half. I'm in several groups, in which other hobbyists swear by using a good multipurpose jewelry set in making their masterpieces. One such tool that they advise are the rounded pliers. Instead of a flat base which can crush your work, the round cone appendages will help hold pieces being glued together to adhere without damaging the needed curve or bend of your mixed mediums. The wire cutting pliers are great for when I have to cut wires to make garland or the outside shape of an umbrella. In the past, I've had to make do with an Exacto knife which can get the job done. But it also dulls my blade quickly. I like being able to have several spools of metal wire, with brass and silver colors in varying degrees of thickness. On the last project I completed, I wanted to customize some vines, as there was an area that seemed really bare. But I didn't have wire, which is more inconspicuous, and I had to wind up using flax yarn that just wasn't 100% my vision. Some of the tools are perfect for when a project has fabric, like for making a miniature cushion for a chair. The needle and threaders will help me work cleaner instead of modeling glue which when dried makes the fabric look like there's a massive water spill on it. Also included are dozens of clasps, hooks, and brackets that, while you might use to hold pieces of jewelry together, I can use to help hold hanging items in place when gravity just won't be friends with the piece while waiting for the glue to dry. One item that I didn't expect are the thread scissors. That is a tool I didn't know that I needed but I do! Trying to cut fabric with an Exacto blade is something that can be done. But doing so makes for raggedy edges. With these new scissors, my cuts are much, much cleaner! Awesome tool! I plan on getting a lot of use out of this jewelry set. I just will be using it to create a different kind of craft. ... show more

functional, comprehensive budget kit
Hardware color: Black
Good assortment of bits and bobs, bright gold and silver color wire, and miscellaneous tools. I think this is ideal for beginners who are just dipping their toes in the water. The tool quality is pretty rudimentary, rough edges on the pliers and plastic calipers, and everything is just kind of shoved into the case. The economical price plays a huge part in the good rating here. I think this is a good casual set for a hobbyist, but I wouldn't expect anything here to stand up to sustained usage. ... show more

A Surprisingly Complete Little Jewelry-Making Kit 💎
Hardware color: Black
A Surprisingly Complete Little Jewelry-Making Kit 💎 This is a very useful starter kit because it combines the tools and findings needed for basic jewelry making and repairs rather than giving you one pair of pliers and leaving you to figure out everything else separately. The included pliers cover the basic functions needed for manipulating wire, opening and closing jump rings, working with findings, and making simple repairs. Having different styles of pliers matters much more than I realized when I first started making jewelry because trying to make one tool do every job becomes frustrating very quickly. The kit also includes craft wire, jump rings, and assorted jewelry findings, so you can actually start experimenting instead of immediately needing another order of supplies. I particularly like having everything organized together in the case. Jewelry components are tiny, and without organization they apparently reproduce, migrate, and eventually turn up in places where nobody remembers putting them. 😂 For someone just beginning to make necklaces, bracelets, or earrings, this provides a nice assortment for learning basic techniques. It's also useful to keep around specifically for repairing jewelry—replacing a jump ring or fixing a clasp doesn't necessarily require an entire professional jewelry bench. Experienced jewelry makers may already own higher-end individual tools and larger inventories of findings, but for starting out, crafting, or keeping a compact repair kit handy, this is a very comprehensive little set. ... show more

Great kit for jewelry making beginners
Hardware color: Black
This jewelry making kit is really nice. It also seems to have things that can be used for sewing. It comes with so many items to make several jewelry projects. I used the pliers and the silver wire to wrap around a pendant and they both worked great. The kit has three jewelry making pliers that are fairly well made. It also comes with a tape measurer, small plastic caliper, tweezers, scissors, craft wire, and so much more. All are housed in a black zippered case. Some tools didn't have a designated place, so I put those in a plastic bag inside the case so that I didn't lose anything when I opened it. Also included are three sizes each of silver and gold craft wire. The wire is a decent thickness and is easy to manipulate. There are also both silver and gold jewelry findings that are decently made but the gold color doesn't look authentic. They could have done better with that. Overall, it's a great kit and would be great for a beginner to practice with. The kit is worth the price since you get so much. You will eventually have to order more jewelry findings, but the tools should last quite a while. I recommend this as a beginner kit for anyone interested in learning jewelry making. ... show more

A great kit for the beginner or intermediate jewelry crafter
Hardware color: Black
This is a great find for my wife, a novice jeweler who is venturing from elastic to wire bracelets. The kit not only includes a variety of silver and gold wires, but also plenty of clasps, links and other component pieces. Especially important to moving on from elastic to wire, the kit includes a range of tools for cutting and bending wires, also a caliper. She uses mostly natural beads which are not uniformly sized, and the caliper allows her to judge bead sizes more accurately and consistently. She also buys jewelry items from rummage sales that she disassembles and re-uses in her own redesigns. The various pliers and cutting tools allow her to clip, shape and repurpose her finds. She appreciates the tools' manageable size and comfortable, non-slip handles. The kit provides beginner to intermediate crafters with everything they need, except the beads; and I suspect she will make good on her plans to make use of every piece of it. Include is a semi-hard, zippered pouch for the tools and two, 10-compartment, clear plastic storage boxes for the many components. ... show more

Great value for jewelry making
Hardware color: Black
I think this is an excellent jewelry‑making kit, especially considering the price. It includes a generous assortment of supplies, with plenty of both silver‑ and gold‑colored findings, as well as three different wire gauges in each color. Everything is neatly organized and individually packaged, making it easy to find what you need. The overall quality of the materials exceeded my expectations, and I think this set offers excellent value for beginners as well as hobbyists. At a price point of $18, it’s reasonable to expect that the included tools aren’t top‑tier, but they will get the job done for casual users. My only complaint is the storage case for the tools. While it’s nice that everything is included in one case, only a few of the tools have dedicated slots. The rest simply lie loose inside, so every time I open the case, several tools fall out. It’s a small design issue, but one that could have been easily improved. Other than that, I have no complaints. It’s a well‑equipped kit at a very reasonable price, and I’d happily recommend it. ... show more

everything you need for jewelry repair
Hardware color: Black
This kit has pretty much everything you need to get started with this type of crafting and fix small jewelry issues too. It comes with the tools, wire, jump rings, clasps, findings, and storage pieces, so it is really nice having it all together instead of buying everything separately. The listing shows it includes 3 jewelry pliers, craft copper wire, tweezers, needles, scissors, measuring tools, a jump ring opener, and 1420 pieces of jewelry findings. Pros: It comes with a great variety of tools and findings, is useful for both starting new projects and repairing jewelry, and feels like a really good all-in-one kit. Cons: No complaints so far. Overall, I’m very happy with this set. It is convenient, useful, and has everything needed to start creating or fixing jewelry. ... show more
